One of the vaccines that we provide to the dogs/puppies that we adopt out is the Leptospirosis vaccine. Yes, Lepto is something we have seen in our area and easier for your pet to get it than you think. Be proactive and keep your pet’s vaccinations current and consider adding the #Leptospirosis vaccine to those annual updates... #
You Can Count on Timber
Timber took a moment to let us know what he’s looking for in a furever home. He needs to be the only pet. He’s been in our rescue for awhile and would love nothing more than a #HomeForTheHolidays
“I'm Timber. A 3 year old lab/mastiff. Everyone that my foster mom introduces me to adores me. They say I'm like a big teddy bear, I don't know what that means, but they swoon over me-especially the ladies. I could use some help with desensitization to things I just didn't grow up knowing about. I'm pretty laid back on outings, with some help from my people. I love adventures. Thanks to my obedient listening skills I get to run in the pasture daily. I come when called, working on stay and threshold training. I'm kennel trained (like those outside, dog run kennels) and I've always been potty trained. I'm not as concerned about the livestock on the property anymore, if I keep my distance from them. So, I promise I'm teachable. I'm a pretty chill boy who loves my giant bed and just needs a loving home of my own.”

Timber the Goodest Boy
Timber is truly the goodest boy. He is still seeking his forever home with no other pets.
Timber is a handsome lab/mastiff mix who survived being shot by his former owner. Timber has shown incredible resilience and still has plenty of love to give. He’s a big, goofy boy who is living his best life.
Thank you Snake River Four Paws for the video.

Dog Abuse in Clarkston, WA
This incident occurred on October 8, 2024 in Clarkston, WA (directly across the bridge from us). Witnesses saw this man kicking and beating this dog because the dog refused to get into the truck. They started recording shortly after the beating started and contacted the sheriff’s department.
While this video didn’t capture the worst of things, you can certainly see the man’s frustration being taken out on the dog with a couple more kicks at the end of the video. The dog is obviously hurt and limping. Even if we had full video, Facebook probably wouldn’t allow it.
Law enforcement is involved. We will update once we have all of the facts.
We are extremely grateful to the individuals who took the appropriate actions to ensure this dog received help. We can’t imagine how difficult it was to witness the actions of this man in the video.
If you find yourself as a witness to animal cruelty and abuse, please take the necessary steps to help:
➡️ Document the abuse without putting yourself in danger. While it is hard to witness, most law enforcement will require “proof” of the abuse.
➡️ Make a note of the location, time, date, address, license plate, and other pertinent information.
➡️ Call law enforcement immediately. Ask that they contact you once they have responded. Request a case number.
Reach to us anytime with any questions or concerns.

Mojito (aka Mo) and Fancy are about ready for a new foster. They need a patient foster who can help them learn to trust and to be normal dogs. Mo gets neutered Oct 9. Fancy gets spayed Oct 14.
They are 4 years old and very bonded. Fancy is still skittish but making slow progress. Mo would love to be a lap dog once he’s comfortable with you. They have made great progress in the short time they’ve been here, however, their fear of the big dogs here has made progress a bit harder.
Fosters have first option to adopt. They will require a securely fenced yard as they can get scared easily and run. We provide their food, supplies, veterinary care, etc. Because they still need some work we expect it’ll be a longer term foster before they can go up for adoption. They are not fans of big dogs or children. They need a little time to warm up to smaller dogs, but do warm up. Cats unknown.

Welcome out two new intakes. These two males are dachshund/lab mix. Yup, you read that right! They’re starting their two-week quarantine and will be available for adoption after that. We have no way of knowing how big they’ll get but we sure love those short little legs and long ears! 🐾 #dachshund #labrador #idaho
Lil Bit has made such progress in a short time. She’s still a tiny little thing but her appetite is fantastic. She’s still on both formula and wet food. Her coordination has really improved in less than a week. She has a skin issue under her neck and armpits that she’s working on healing and is being monitored. Lil Bit is a very happy and healthy girl. She is a lot of spice in a tiny package 🤣 #chug #puppy #pug #chihuahua #idaho
This tiny #pug mix joined our rescue (IdahoRescue.org) yesterday and wasn’t feeling very well. She decided around 2am this morning that she was feeling much better and needed to play 🤣 Who needs sleep when you have a cute #puppy that demands your attention? What should we name her? #chug #chihuahua
Tiny Dog Leads Horse
Adorable tiny #dog leads #horse. Size doesn’t matter 🤣

Timber (Spartacus) definitely has his summer vibes going. This boy loooves his ice cream cones!
Timber is still looking for his forever home. After being shot by his awful former owner, surviving on his own with those wounds, and turning out to be a big love bug through all of his medical care … we are baffled as to why Timber still hasn’t found a home.
Timber needs a home where he can be the only pet, receive copious amounts of cuddles, and a nice big yard. He’s a pretty chill guy who enjoys lounging around. He doesn’t require any special care for his old bullet wounds.

Juliaetta, ID Furry Fire Victims
Yesterday we went to assist an older gentleman with feed and hay for some of his animals. We learned that on a separate area of the property his old school house burned down as well. Sadly, there were numerous cats and kittens that lived on this property. He told us of seeing several of them having burns and injuries as a result of the fire.
With the help of our volunteers and with Helping Hands Rescue, we went out yesterday evening to see what we could do to help these kitties. It was a sad scene 😞 and efforts to help these animals will continue as it’s going to be a slow process with many of the cats being scared or feral.

This is a beautiful property with some fascinating history behind various parts. We can understand why people are drawn to it.
🚫 The owner also told us of the many trespassers who also were going onto the property. Some claiming to “rescue”. Some wanting to see the cars. Some wanting photos. Please, never ever enter someone’s private property without owner permission or unless law enforcement is with you.
