Week Seven Update! I can't believe they are that old already! They are all doing super well. Growing great and loving the weather we had today! It is crazy, but next week, all the puppies will be going to their forever homes. I am sad to see them go, but I am excited for them as they go off to their new lives. I am excited to meet their new owners and see over the next few months how the pups grow and mature. Enjoy these fun pictures I got today!

Week Four Update! The puppies are growing so fast! They are super chubby and extremely cute! Isla and Ukko love the snow and the puppies are just today getting introduced to it! They are also trying out puppy food for the first time, some love it and some don't know what to think yet! Stay tuned for more updates!

Week Three Update! It is hard for us to believe that they are so old already! The puppies are getting so big! Mother and puppies are healthy. We are so excited to see them grow! We have put collars on them but the biggest boy decided he didn't like his, so we will have to train him to like collars! 🤣 They move so much that it is hard to get clear pictures! 🙂 I will keep posting updates! All four are reserved.

I have exciting news!! Isla and Ukko are now the proud parents of four male puppies! They are all doing well and growing fast! They were born on 1/23/2023. They all came fast and Isla did great. They are so cute! I will be posting more pictures over the next eight weeks as they grow, so stay tuned!

Merry Christmas! We have exciting news!! Isla was bred in November, and she will have puppies in January! We are so excited for the precious puppies to arrive! 🥳😍 Stay tuned for pictures of the pups as they arrive and grow!

The puppies are two weeks old today! So exciting!! They all have their eyes open and are crawling around more! They are just so cute! 😍 Yara is doing well, still recovering from having eight puppies, but she is good. She is doing a fantastic job raising and taking care of them. The puppies are getting bigger and momma is doing well! We have enjoyed watching the puppies grow over the last few days. There are three males and five females! We just put their colored collars on so that we can watch each one's growth more closely. I can't wait until they open their eyes! It will be so fun 😀 Here are some pictures! They are just so cute 🤩

On the early morning of Saturday the 6th, Yara had eight puppies!!!🐕🐶 We are so excited! She did a great job. The puppies and momma are looking good, THEY ARE SO CUTE! We will be posting more pictures soon! 😀

We have exciting news! 🥳🎉 Yara is expecting!
Yara and Ukko will be the proud parents of some pups come August! We are so excited to meet all the little puppies! Yara was bred the first week in June (I apologize for the late post) so that puts her puppies due in August! Which means the puppies will be ready to go to their new homes come October! We are so excited to see Yara be a momma, we know she will do great! Since I am talking about Yara and puppies, I figured now would be a great time to introduce her to you all! This is Yara!
She is a very serious, and majestic Karelian. She is the oldest of the pack, born on July 8th, 2016. She loves to go for walks and be around people. She doesn't seem afraid of the next challenge. We adopted her from Jackknife Mountain Karelians after they decided to be done breeding. She didn't take long to get comfortable around us and she certainly seems to love Montana! She is a great momma and has about 10 puppies per litter. We are proud to call her our own.

Happy Birthday to our sire, Ukko! He is 5 years old today! 🥳

Here is a little more about him! Ukko our sire, is a playful, fun loving dog, even at his age, he is still a puppy at heart. Being the youngest of the three born on today 5 years ago. He loves people - especially little kids, he is so sweet with them! We recently adopted him from Jackknife Mountain Karelians. He adjusted to the change extremely well. He loves to run and play but also likes to go for hunts. He is a great father and we are so proud he is ours. He compliments our pack so well!

Hello Everyone! This is Faith Osmundson, my family and I are the new owners of Jackknife Mountain Karelians! We are so excited to start this new adventure with you all.

We live and work on our family ranch in Central Montana, right up against the beautiful Rocky Mountains, where we raise cattle and sheep. We are also the owners of the kennel Rocky Mountain Karelian Bear Dogs. Before Charisse reached out to us asking if we'd take over Jackknife for her, we were in the process of shutting down Rocky Mountain KBDs because both our KBDs had died (not health related). Since Charisse reached out to us (end of March), we have been in the process of transferring the business side of things and the dogs, to our home here in MT. We were so happy to meet and now own the great dogs Yara, Isla and Ukko! Stay tuned as we will be posting more about the three dogs themselves and the upcoming litter expected in August from Yara and Ukko.
We have also been in the process of opening Rocky Mountain KBDs back up, as we want to slowly transition all that Jackknife was, to Rocky Mountain KBDs.

We greatly enjoyed seeing all of your well wishes to Charisse, as we are also so thankful for her and all she has done for us. Thank you all for being so understanding of all the changes that have taken place in the last few months!

It has been an absolute pleasure to run this kennel and work with so many wonderful people. I'm pleased to say that we have found the perfect family to take over. The Osmundsons are a hard working family that love the breed and are committed to continuing to provide quality Karelians and stellar customer service. Faith is heading up the operations but they all pitch in. I will rest easy knowing that they will take it from here. You can contact them for puppies, paperwork, etc.. Update: We have had quite a response from several, great people. We will be working through this process but our kennel will be in good hands.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are looking for the right person or couple to take over our kennel. Training will be provided. Interested parties will be screened carefully. You can message for details.
