In Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, garlic is indicated for Food Stagnation, cancer, diabetes, and asthma. Most commonly, garlic is used for natural prevention of parasites like fleas and ticks. It enters the spleen, lung, stomach, heart, liver and large intestine channels. Garlic is sweet, salty and pungent. It tonifies Yang (adds warmth to the body) and promotes energy circulation which is especially helpful for senior pets that have a hard time getting going in the morning. Garlic resolves dampness, resolves phlegm, promotes both healthy digestion and intestinal flora, helps eliminate toxins, expels Wind, and is especially good for Wind cold.

Garlic can be beneficial for both dogs and cats in appropriate doses. I use fresh crushed cloves.
🐱 For cats: 1/4 clove (crushed) daily, 3-4 days per week.
🐶 For dogs: 1/2 clove (crushed) per 20 pounds of body weight daily, with a maximum of 3 cloves. Best to take at least 1 day per week off.
*Please make sure to note the difference between a clove and a bulb/head of garlic.

Not recommended for puppies and kittens. Long term use is contraindicated in pets with vision issues. If your pet has a history of anemia, it would be safer to avoid use of garlic in any form.

This will be my last post for my Montana business. I hope to reopen in another year in another place. I just wanted to say thank you to all the people who have been my friends and customers over the years. You have made me feel so loved as I have said goodbye these past few months. I will miss so many of you and leaving your dogs has been unspeakably worse. I am so attached to each one for different reasons. Thank you for your kindness and support the past 12 years.

Kibble contains starches and fillers that break down into sugar, contributing to plaque and a build up of bad bacteria. A study in Australia showed that dental health declined in just 17 days after switching from a raw to a kibble diet in dogs. Another study showed higher dental disease in cats fed a dry food diet versus feral cats eating a (raw) diet in the wild.

Unfortunately, dogs and cats often do not chew their kibble, even if the pieces are larger and filled with air. One study concluded that kibble did not result in enough abrasive action on the teeth to significantly reduce plaque and tartar. Furthermore, the kibble used in the study was a prescription diet which is not meant to be a base diet for a dog or cat.

🥇 The gold standard for good oral health in dogs and cats is daily brushing, just like it is for us.

My third try at boots. First try were too low and shaved off, second try looked like leg warmers, Paisley boots are an inch too low but there is definite improvement. Paisley felt like a princess when she left.

Let me be clear.

I am not anti rescue. At all.
In fact Farm Cat (found on the side of the road with his littermates left for dead) and Farm Dog are both rescues.

While I value them so greatly and can’t imagine life without them, I want their humans to be stopped. Irresponsible, unethical, unkind “breeding” needs to be stopped.

If you truly love animals then we want the same thing: shelter and rescue numbers greatly reduced and standards of breeding raised.

The band aid propaganda of is NOT working.

In fact it is only benefiting puppy mills and unethical breeders by only placing value in THEIR DOGS. We have created such an unfair stigma that buying responsibly is wrong. Immoral even.

But if we don’t change the way we buy and breed, nothing will change and unethical breeders keep selling and profiting and shelters and resides continue to spend their life cleaning up the mess of health and temperament issues coupled with so many dogs that have lost faith in humans. Why would we want that for our dogs?

It starts with you. Please do not buy from a breeder that you can’t return a dog to. You can’t do proper due diligence on and one that does not value their puppies enough to give them a voice in their placement.

In life, we struggle to find purpose. Something we can truly change. Something we are passionate about. I am handing you the power to truly disrupt the “business” that is sh*tty breeding. Demand more.
Our dogs deserve more.

Reduce numbers in the shelters and rescue groups by buying from a breeder that will take back their kitten or puppy for the entirely of their life. That believes in high standards of health and besides in empowering them to believe in themselves. An empowered breeder teaches them that the world is safe. People are kind and the dogs are friendly.

Help me. Help rescue groups. Help shelters. Help our dogs and cats.
Buy responsibly, please. And then and only then can we watch in OUR lifetime irresponsible breeders diminish. Stop funding them and start valuing empowered breeders.

💰 This is a highly profitable cycle for Mars. Convince pet parents to feed low quality food and spend more at the vet, while they make money off of you every step of the way.

🥩 I feed high quality, species appropriate diets from companies I trust, use a local (private) veterinarian, and minimize or eliminate vaccines/chemicals to ensure my pets get the best care possible.
