"If I die before my dog, let him see my body.
He understands death, if he feels my death he can cry for me.
If he doesn't see me again he will think I abandoned him and he will continue waiting for my return.
If I die before my companion, let him say goodbye to me.
"Dogs are an endless friendship, a loyal friend, a part of life and a reason to exist! "🐾❤️

"Today is a day many consider an American tradition: the day of the Kentucky Derby. Even as a child, with a horse and a pony of my own, I knew deep down that this was a barbaric and abusive tradition; little did I know how deep that cruelty ran." ~ Josh

A few facts about the Derby and horse racing.

- There are zero benefits to horse racing for horses; it is purely a “sport” done for the entertainment of humans.

- Drugging Is Common Practice. They aren’t given for the well-being of the horse. They’re given to do everything possible to keep the horses going when their bodies simply can’t handle it.

- Horses are often euthanized on the spot when injured on the track. It is also well-documented that many racehorses end up at slaughter auctions within a week of their last race.

- A thoroughbred broodmare’s sole purpose in life is to produce as many racehorses as possible. When she delivers, her baby is immediately taken from her and nursed by a “nurse mare” while the broodmare is then forced to immediately get pregnant again. What happens to the "nurse mare's" baby? These foals are of no use to the industry, and these “useless” foals have been historically killed.

This only focuses on the horses and only scratches the surface of the cruelty involved. There is so much more suffering for these animals, and it is also documented that the Jockeys are the worst paid and most seriously injured athletes of any "sport."

We encourage each of you to research this legacy of cruelty, for both the non-human and human animals.

Please! Do not bring these into your home if you have cats! Lots of people think that pointsettas are toxic - these are so. much. worse. All parts of the plant, including the pollen, can lead to irreversible kidney failure if integested by a cat. We shared before, but if this saves even one kitty, it was worth sharing again.
