We are a small group of dedicated people trying to make a difference for the animals. We are NOT a shelter, and our animals are housed in our homes.

ARF is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding homes for abandoned animals. Our small network of foster homes are in Southern Maryland. We have many wonderful animals in foster care right now looking for permanent loving homes. Please stop by our adoption days and meet them. Adoption Days are held every Saturday at the Well Pet Clinic in Lexington Park, MD from 11am to 2pm. The Well Pet Cli

nic is located at 21800 North Shangri La Dr # 16 in Lexington Park. Our missions are:

- To provide rescue and adoption for dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, and occasionally other small and furry animals.

- To provide information to the community on low cost spay/neuter programs and veterinary care, pet care, house/crate training, and animal behavior/training. Our hope is that our efforts will help decrease the pet overpopulation problem that is caused by lack of spay/nuetering, and relinquishment/abandonment of pets.

- We take in ABANDONED animals, see that they are healthy and ADOPTED, and that they are ADORED for life by their adopters and the ARF organization.

Our ARF fosters were bursting with excitement when they figured out they could solicit treats while making new friends. Step one? Transforming into the cutest, creatures around! Now they're begging for snaps of your tiny terrors in their Halloween finery!
(They want it to be known, they would never really ghost anyone – they are all in on unconditional love.)

Today ARF volunteers made goodie bags with food, a fleece blanket and toys for the dogs and cats that were in the path of hurricane Helene and are in desperate need of help right now. We delivered them to the donation drop off site at Taylor Gas in Great Mills, and they will be heading south tomorrow. We made about 40 bags but I forgot to get a picture of them all 🙄 Hope this makes life a little easier for those poor animals 🥰 Thank you Chris and Dusty 🤩

These are our Fire babies!! Mtoto, male, black white with blaze, Pepe, male, all black, Bebek, male, black and white, Baby, female, brown tabby, Bebe, female, tortie, Bambina and Infans, females, flame point. All are about 4 months old. Found as strays and we are helping the finder get them into good homes 💕

URGENT: HELP GINGERSNAP! While playing in the backyard, Ginger tore her ACL. This will not heal on its own without surgery. If surgery is not done, she'll face years of arthritic pain, and possible injury to her other leg, as it compensates. ARF is a small rescue and this is a big operation. Donations are encouraged. Ginger is expected to recover fully, and will be available for adoption this Fall.

What better dog could you have, than one who comically entertains herself! Come play with Olive tomorrow at the Well Pet Clinic in 20653!

Wouldn't it be fantastic if someone would Adopt Apollo and Ginger together? They have become Foster Friends and are really good together! They play like this for about 15 minutes and then chill.

It is very important that our foster animals have great foster brothers and sisters. Benny and Groucho love their foster sister, Sophie. She has helped them with their socialization skills as you can see 😻 Benny is available for adoption and Groucho has a pending adoption. Please contact us if interested

As a a dog-fosterer, I tell my adopters, that if they ever need a petsitter, and I am available, to ask me. I only request a donation to ARF. It's great to see my foster dogs again, and my own dogs love the reunion too!

These cute babies will be available in a few weeks for adoption. They are having a great time with their foster sister’s toys. So nice of her to share with them 🙂

ARF Foster Dogs: Ava (Husky Mix) & Fenris (Husky) do well together, but can be adopted separately. Both around 2 years old. Both very smart. Both need an active home, but do settle down and sleep at your feet. Tell your friends!!
