The muzzle season is upon us! Despite appearances, the short grass contains high sugar levels, which can lead to laminitis, as recently observed. However, with proper care, metabolic equines can be protected from this preventable condition.

Muzzles are not mean, they tend to not really care about them once they get used to them. Many realize that muzzle=outside time with friends! A peppermint or sugar-free treat upon application won’t hurt either ❤️

I just want to say a huge thank you to the owners that are taking the time to towel off legs before my arrival!
It makes the day much cleaner and my tools sure do appreciate it as well 😉
It also makes for better trims when we can see what we are doing!

🌟 hosing is great except for it leaves wet and slippery legs, towel drying the mud off is the best as well as having a dry safe area for your farrier or trimmer to stand the horse and work

Don’t forget your donkeys! These guys are on the road to recovery with diet changes and frequent trims. Less sugar+proper minerals = better good quality for these little guys.
