Eddie wants to spend Christmas with you this year!

Eddie has been in the shelter 103 days. He is a 5 year old, neutered male, and FIV positive. All he wants for Christmas is a family to spend the holidays with.

What does owning a FIV positive cat mean?

FIV- Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (Only cats can get this virus)

FIV does not make the cat sick but it suppresses the immune system making it hard for them to fight off disease. This is mainly transmitted by fighting wounds.

FIV CATS MUST LIVE INDOORS ONLY!

🚨PLEASE SHARE!!🚨All of these precious pups are strays! Some of their time is up but we are holding onto hope for either rescue or possibly their owner just didn't know to come here looking for them🥺
All of the dogs listed here are other dog friendly and are SUPER sweet! As most shelters find themselves, we as well are full. We try our best to make this a loving environment but it is not the same as a home. If you happen to recognize one of them PLEASE let their owner know! If you happen to know of a 501c3 rescue that could help PLEASE pass this along!
We also have our Save-A-Pet program. Through this program you can basically adopt the pet (as is). The pet may possibly need further medical and spay/neuter. We can assist with making an appointment and offer a voucher for Lexington County residents. Every pet will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, and Heartworm tested. **UPDATE!!**ADOPTED!!**We are so happy!! He found his human!!**

Korbin has officially been here longer than any other dog in the shelter. This one year old neutered Lab/Akita mix has been here since July! He would love for nothing more than to have a family of his own to celebrate every holiday🐾🎄💝

15 of our long term adoption dogs have been loaded up and their new journey begins!! They will be heading up North for their next adventure and have new homes waiting! We cannot thank Charleston Animal Society enough for helping to make this possible!🐾💕It is bitter sweet, we love them so much and will miss them but we are also over the moon happy for them as well!!!!

COLD WEATHER IS HERE!!!!!

Reminder that per County Ordinance
SEC.10-42
(c) No dog, tethered or untethered, shall be left outside unattended for 30 minutes or longer during a two (2) hour period when:
(1) The temperatures are below 40° Fahrenheit for a sustained two (2) hour period, unless adequate bedding and shelter as defined in this chapter are provided to protect the animal from the elements.

Also with temperatures getting below freezing we want to make sure the pets of Lexington County stay warm. We've gotten hundreds of these dog sweaters we would like to give out for FREE. You would need to come to the front office and we will get you the size you need for your pet.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 21st! We will be hosting another FREE microchip event for Lexington County residents! This event is for dogs only (limit 3 per household) and we will be at the Swansea Magistrate, 500 Charlie Rast Rd. Swansea SC. 29160, from 9am-11am. Or UNTIL SUPPLIES LAST, WE WILL BE ONLY GIVING OUT 100 CHIPS.

With the help of Animal Mission of the Midlands we are able to provide spay/neuter vouchers based off of proof of appointment.

With the help of Pawmetto Lifeline we are effortlessly making our way through the county with our 3rd event.

With the help of The Humane Society of the United States we are able to provide rabies vaccine vouchers that will expire in January of 2025.
