What an incredible time at this year’s American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Forum! We were thrilled to connect with future colleagues at the Candidate Happy Hour at the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory and celebrate new diplomates during the Specialty Symposium and New Diplomate Reception.

The MedVet booth was buzzing throughout the Exhibit Hall, allowing us to meet and engage with so many passionate veterinary professionals. We also had the honor of sharing knowledge and ideas, with Maura Stevenson, PhD., Joe DeFulio, and Dr. Kathy Wright presenting on topics shaping the future of veterinary medicine.

The MedVet Student Mixer was another highlight, and we were delighted to co-sponsor the Connecting Communities Reception, supporting diversity and belonging within the veterinary profession.

When Gus was diagnosed with high-grade lymphoma, his family turned to MedVet Northern Virginia for help.

Surgeon Dr. Jay Coisman first removed a re**al tumor that was causing Gus discomfort, and then Medical Oncologist Dr. Brendan Boostrom guided him through a full CHOP chemotherapy course to help prevent the cancer from returning.

Throughout treatment, Gus stayed strong and even experienced one of the rarer chemo side effects: significant hair loss. But his spirit never wavered, and today he’s almost two years in remission, rocking a whole new look and living life to the fullest. 💙

Gus is a reminder of what’s possible with compassionate, collaborative veterinary care. We’re honored to be part of his journey!

When Jude was transferred to MedVet Vancouver's ER from Grateful Heart Veterinary Hospital after being resuscitated there through life-saving CPR, every second mattered. Our Emergency team, with support from our Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Neurology teams, worked together to begin Jude’s care journey.

Together, they uncovered the underlying cause: Addison’s disease, a hormonal disorder where the adrenal glands don't produce enough cortisol and aldosterone, two crucial hormones for regulating various bodily functions. This condition can lead to life-threatening crises if undiagnosed, but thanks to expert collaboration and a tailored treatment plan, Jude made it through intensive care and began the road to recovery.

With months of dedicated rehab and follow-up care from his loving moms, Jude is now thriving—wrapped in his favorite blanket and full of life. 💙

After experiencing trauma and trouble breathing, little Emmie was brought to MedVet Commerce. Under the care of Criticalist Dr. Adrienne Felix, she was diagnosed with suspected non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema and pulmonary contusions — meaning fluid had built up in her lungs and her lung tissue was injured.

She needed more than standard oxygen and was treated with high-flow nasal oxygen therapy. Just days later, Emmie was breathing easy and back to being her joyful, energetic self. 💛

At 35 years old, Yoda the parrot is still full of personality—chatting, dancing, and now healing after eye surgery at WestVet Boise.

Yoda was treated for glaucoma in her right eye, which left her with little to no vision and ongoing discomfort. After a thorough evaluation, Drs. Sami Pederson and Morgan Oakleaf, along with our Ophthalmology and Anesthesia teams, performed a modified evisceration—removing most of the eye but preserving the outer shell to reduce bleeding and help with post-op balance, a key consideration for birds.

Two weeks post-surgery, Yoda is thriving and back to being her vibrant self!
