Spot the signs of osteoarthritis 👀
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common degenerative joint condition that can affect dogs and cats of all ages. The earlier it’s diagnosed, the earlier you can slow its progression (and help your pet get relief!).
When caring for your pet in Lexington, keep an eye out for these signs:
- Stiffness in limbs
- Difficulty getting up
- Reluctance to use stairs
- Loss of interest in playing
- Sitting with a back leg loosely to the side
- Difficulty getting up and down from furniture or cat tree
- Going p*e or poo outside the litter box
- Matting or scruff from less self-grooming
If you notice any of these, it’s time to make a vet appointment for your furball at the Banfield Pet Hospital Lexington. 📆
