Letting the dogs go to the bathroom for the night and a couple of them were acting strange and wouldn’t come through the gate - when I went to investigate I almost stepped right on top of this little guy and jumped about three feet in the air. Good thing the dogs are snake proofed!

Snakes are out and moving about! Why not prepare your pup and give them the tools to be able to detect and avoid those ? Shoutouts to Snakebreaker and West Side Veterinary Clinic for their support in making this possible!

We had a great weekend running Waterloo Amateur Retriever club last weekend, thank you to the club, judges, and volunteers. Thank you to our clients for trusting us with their dogs!

“Bock” owned by Michael and Ashley Bieltz earned his Master Hunter title and was a highlight of my weekend. Top Notch Retrievers has titled several dogs and every Hunting Retriever Champion and Master title is a milestone and an accomplishment for the dogs and owners. It takes hundreds of days and countless hours to get from a pup to a fully trained retriever and it’s always exciting to see the hard work pay off when they finally get there.

Bock is extra special for me and I’ll admit I got a little teary eyed. Bock has been all over the country with me, rode through a tornado with me and other endeavors along the way. Robert Murray started him and then sent him to me to finish. Many people said he didn’t have what it takes to get to master level - he is now one of the best marking dogs and most dependable dogs on my truck at tests. People said he couldn’t get a Finished title let alone a Master title and now he has 330 HRC points, a Grand pass and now a Master Hunter. He’s not always the fastest or most stylish dog on our team but I believed in him and he never quit on me. I am blessed to have a career and successful business that I am passionate about and moments like this make me love my job even more. “Good boy” Bock!

We’ve had a busy month so far! We kicked it off with our home club Centex Retriever Club and put on our inaugural test and it was a big success and went off with out a hitch. Thank you to everyone that helped, handlers filling the test and the HRC community for the support in getting it off of the ground.

The 10th - 11th we ran Big D HRC and Colorado River HRC this past weekend with Waterloo coming up this weekend.

Congratulations to Reed Boyd for stepping in the the handlers seat and him and Duke earning their started title. Molly Quirk if you have some pics of his bath share 😁. Have several more clients that have began handling their dogs and are doing well, will get pics and hunting pics out this week.

A big thank you to our clients, family, old and new friends we make along our journey for all the support.

A demonstration of how to teach your pup to load into a vehicle. This dog has never done this before so there are a few common things that happen in the video while teaching this. We hope you enjoy and this helps out a few that have been trying to teach this 🙂.

Let us know other things you are working on and we’ll make more how to videos.
