Lucy Cagle

Lucy Cagle, beloved family companion to the Cagle family crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 5, 2025.

Lucy joined the Cagle family as a puppy years ago and from the moment she arrived she provided tremendous amounts of love and endless enjoyment. Being a Jack Russell-Beagle mix, Lucy had a huge amount of energy and a drive to put her Beagle nose to work. She was a very smart puppy with a huge personality. She was often described by guest as “wild and crazy” while her family just described her as the princess of the pack.

Now in true Jack Russell-Beagle fashion she loved to explore and anytime she found something stinky in the wild, she would immediately roll around in it and would proudly prance to her family to show off her work. This hard work was often rewarded with a nice warm bath. Lucy was also a wee bit sneaky and used her cute little face to get out of the predicaments she managed to get herself in to. Often times she would sneak around and steal the food of her kitty companions. Though the cats never showed their displeasure Lucy’s family is certain it’s because the love and bond Lucy and the cats shared for each other.

Lucy had a heart the size of Texas and loved so many things in life. Whether it was babies and children, hiney scratches or car rides to visit her grandparents in Kershaw, Lucy would wiggle with excitement. Lucy also looked forward to lunch dates with her grandma several times per week because she knew there was a high likelihood she would get her favorite food, pimento cheese. Lucy also took pride in being the “world’s best creative napping champion” because of her skills. She was often caught practicing her craft sleeping upside down and snoring loudly or prefecting her blanket burowing techniques. Lucy’s love was visible to all who were around her.

Lucy leaves behind family and friends who will cherish her memory for many years to come in addition to her best friend, Rocky, and feline companions.

Junior Austin

Junior Austin, faithful companion and best friend to the Austin family crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 16, 2025 surrounded by his family’s love.

Junior joined the Austin family in June of 2015 and immediately stole the hearts of those around him. Junior loved to spend time outside playing fetch or just catching a much needed nap in the warm South Carolina sun.

Junior also loved all that life had to offer and took great pride in making his family smile with his antics. He took every opportunity available to sneak food from his family members and may have been guilty of trying to get an extra helping of dinner by pretending none had fed him yet. No one can confirm whether this little trick worked for Junior but they can confirm that his eyes often got him whatever he wanted.

Junior leaves behind family and friends who loved him dearly to cherish his memory for years to come.

The staff at Midlands Pet Care assisted the Austin family and wishes to extend sympathy to them during this very difficult time.

Timmy Lorenczi

Timmy Lorenczi, beloved family feline to the Lorenczi family crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 4, 2025.

Timmy joined the Lorenczi family in the most unexpected way. In the summer of 2022 a bird of prey swooped in and took a small kitten in its grasp and for reasons unknown suddenly dropped the kitten the a neighboring yard. Timmy’s soon to be new mom, raved into action and saved him from the unruly predator. From that moment on Timmy made sure to show his gratitude to his humans.

Initially Timmy was taken to the vet and was thought to be paralyzed. His family along with their wonderful bet, Dr. Marion Floyd, vowed to do what was in his best interest. After weeks and months of intense care and rehabilitation, Timmy regained the ability to walk. Though Timmy had health issues his entire life he never let that stop him. He was full of love and energy and had the best outlook on life.

While most folks think only dogs play fetch Timmy’s family knows otherwise. If there was a bottle cap or a Pom Pom on the floor he would gleefully bring it to his family and meow with excitement until the object was tossed away from him. He would then eagerly fetch the item and bring it back to this playmate over and over again, sometimes spending hours playing fetch. Timmy was also fond of naps. He would see an opportunity to curl up on the chest of his family members or lay down in bed with them and recharge his body for its next adventure. Most notably when n he would nap on his mother he would often take his paws and put them on either side of her face and muzzle her nose. It was his special way of showing just how much he loved her.

While Timmy possessed so many wonderful qualities with his human companions the same can’t be said for his feline friends. He often beefed with them and honestly we believe it’s because he was affraid they would try to steal his mom and dad and he just wasn’t going to let that happen.

Because Timmy was so I tune with his humans he often meowed to let them know what his needs and wishes were. He would sneak into areas of the house that had been closed for his safely if there was something he needed or wanted from that area. He would pace back and forth, meowing a wee bit louder to gain attention, and ultimately get whatever his hearts desire was at the time.

While their time with Timmy was far shorter than anyone wanted or expected the Lorenczi family loved every minute they had with Timmy. He will forever hold a special place in their hearts. The countless memories, stories and adventures they shared with him will be the comfort they lean on in the coming weeks and months. They know they were lucky to have been able to love Timmy and more importantly for Timmy to have loved them.

The staff at Midlands Pet Care assisted the Lorenczi family and wish to extend sympathy to them during this most difficult time.
