Beautiful dog found in Springfield. Finder was unable to locate owner and pet was not wearing identification. She has no microchip or background information. Looking for a permanent home or foster. Very sweet and social with adult humans, but we are unaware of how she is with children and other animals.

Cats are very good at hiding signs of illness, especially pain. Symptoms such as decreased activity, hesitating to jump on the furniture or counters, avoiding the stairs, or even changes in litter box habits can be a symptom of pain from osteoarthritis. If you are noticing these signs in your feline friend, ask us about Solensia.
Solensia is a biologic, given as a monthly injection to help control the pain of OA in cats.

TICKS OR TREATS? 🎃🍭
At SVH, we prefer treats! One chewable treat every 30 days can protect your dog from the creepy crawlies.
5 FREAKY FACTS about ticks:
1) Ticks are arachnids with 8 legs like spiders and their saliva contains anesthetic properties to numb skin.
2) A tick needs to be attached at least 24 hours in order to transmit disease.
3) Ticks can survive up to 200 days without feeding.
4) One tick may be carrying multiple transmissible diseases.
5) While ticks are most active in spring and summer, they can thrive in fall and winter as long as temperatures remain above freezing!
So, when something wicked this way comes, remember to defend your pet with their monthly preventative!

In an effort to keep our staff healthy and safe, we are continuing to operate curbside for most patient visits. Exceptions are made for euthanasias and in complicated medical visits.

Operating in this way has allowed us to keep the hospital open without interruption during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have also been able to continue to see patients as efficiently as possible during the times we have had employees out due to illness.

We truly appreciate your patience and are planning new visit protocols to increase our number of in person visits this spring.

Meet Gretchen 🐶 She is in need of a home. Recommended to be in a one dog home. She is a little over 2 years and responds to commands. She is very strong willed and full of energy.
