The Humane Society of Davidson County is a non-profit, no-kill volunteer organization dedicated to the welfare of animals and residing in Davidson County, North Carolina. We have educated the public about the needs of animals, and promoted laws that benefit animals. Over the years, we have saved the lives of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens, thereby working to reduce the serious problem of overpopulation.

This is Rosa. She's is alittle over a year old. She hasn't had the greatest start in life. We're hoping to change that.
Rosa is sweet but shy at first. She's was neglected at her 1st home and the 2nd home has an older dog that won't accept Rosa.
She loves other dogs and does great with kids.
Surely someone has room in their heart for her. Rosa deserves a home that is loving, patient and caring. Let's change her life and you will change yours as well.
We would love an adopter for Rosa but we'll take someone willing to foster her. If you foster, the Humane Society pays all the vet bill and gets you all the food you need.
All you have to do is love her.

🐈 Unwanted kittens and cats. 🐈‍⬛️

A terrible cycle that has 1 solution.
SPAY and NEUTER !
It's solves the feral issues, starving, issues of sickness, and severe injuries. That simple act saves unwanted lives. Yes, it cost money. There are many low cost spay and neuter clinics that make ferals a priority and will help.

I'm reaching out to Davidson County residents once again to ask for help. We get several calls daily from concerned citizens that have feral cats and kittens on their property. No one wants to take them to a shelter for fear of euthanization.
We, at the Humane Society of Davidson County are a foster based rescue. We have no way to help with ferals, we never have.
So should someone have a suggestion on what we can tell these residents to help them, and these cats and kittens, message us!
*Please no lectures about what we all know already about spay/neuter. It's a cycle we've tried to stop for too many years.

We have exhausted all of our resources to find Rocky's family.

♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️

He is such a great pup. Rocky is approximately 1 1/2 years old. He's playful, loves other dogs, and has no aggression.
He's so smart. Rocky knows his commands in Spanish. So I guess that makes him bilingual!
Rocky has been vaccinated and is medicated for HW's.
He is chipped but that information is no longer current.
It's hard for the Humane Society and his foster to imagine someone isn't looking for him.
Who's looking for an active, smart, and good looking dog? Well, we have him right here. Rocky is patiently waiting on his furever home.
