Morning of vet visits ❤️. Teeny tiny Faith got her monthly shots in Lexington. Our little charmer is incredibly thin but still eating and purring every time you touch her. And I picked up Fritz in Georgetown. Was SO happy to see him and he immediately started head bonking his carrier and loving on me. Whatever the results are from his tumor testing, I’m just grateful that there is some time left and he’s in good spirits.
Update on forever foster, Sheldon, who is with my wonderful friend, Regina. His massive wounds were continuing to open and bleed, so he had surgery again a few weeks ago to try to help him heal. It’s still problematic, so we are trying to figure out what to do next. The great news is that he has a hearty appetite and now feels safe and comfortable. He loooooves Regina and vice versa. I’m so grateful for her compassion and care 💗.
This dear boy. Fritz has been through it. I thought that the new stomatitis meds had cured him for good. He did a complete turnaround a few months ago after completing 12 weeks of medication. And then recently he appeared to be in pain again, started losing weight, and was keeping to himself. I thought his ulcers had returned and had no idea what I would do because nothing else had helped prior to the Mutoral. I took him to the vet last Friday, and Dr. Wade discovered a big growth in his mouth. We hoped it was a granuloma, but today he had surgery to remove it and she said it had doubled in size and was most likely an aggressive cancer. She sent it out to confirm, and I’m certainly not hopeful.
Y’all, these oral issues in cats are going to be the end of me. 💔😭
I feel like I haven’t posted anything in forever. Trying to soak up what’s left of summer and enjoy the simple pleasures….picking the last blackberries, feeding sunflower seeds to the chickens, and sunset porch sitting with the cats. Rosie went back to school yesterday. Working on fun new design projects. And looking forward to what fall will bring. 🌻
I’m sad to report that little Loretta passed away overnight 💔. Loretta was in permanent foster care with who took great care of her for the past 4 months. We knew she was most likely hospice (cancer suspected), and she spent her days eating canned food, napping with her “sister” Gilda and several sweet old dogs. Fly free, dear one. And all my gratitude to Lori for her love and care. ❤️
Basement bedroom redo! It was hard to get good photos in this room because of the angles and lighting, but I love how it turned out! My incredibly sweet client has LOTS of antique furniture and sentimental treasures from her mom, grandma, and great grandmother which she wants to use but doesn’t want it to look old fashioned. So, we chose this wallpaper to jazz things up, and I brought in texture, color, greenery, lighting, and art to bring it all together. An adorable overhead light still needs to go up, and I’m waiting for rugs to arrive. Those final pieces of the puzzle will be the icing on the cake 💫💚.

I’m so glad that I planted sunflowers up against the screened porch. The cats can do some serious bee and bird watching safely inside 🌻. And extra shade for all of us!
Some good news to share! Lacey at the Harrison County shelter had a dental at our vet last week, and headed to a foster home last night. I’m SO happy for her and the kind people at the shelter who love her! I’m often feel helpless which drives me crazy, so it gives me peace to know that we could help her in some way. 💗How darn cute is she??!
After and before. I thoroughly enjoyed today’s fundraising design project ❤️! A new client has lots of books, art, photos, sentimental treasures and such an awesome eclectic style. I removed everything from these shelves to create spaces that highlighted everything and made it all work together. 🐛🤡📷🎨🌪️
Back to design work. My assistants are exhausted from all of the attention they got during cat camp 😻.
Two days with 9 girls and making cat toys, meeting the animals, learning about animal rescue, painting a mural, assembling super salads for the pigs and chickens, practicing yoga, discussing personal worthiness, pulling healing crystals and assembling homegrown lavender sachets, creating pet portraits, folding paper cranes (a symbol of hope and healing), and some water fun to cool down in this heat. It was definitely a fun trial run for Rosebud Ranch camp! These girls give me a lot of hope for the future 💓💓💓.
We are having a little 2 day cat rescue and empowerment camp here for tween girls! I’m so grateful for my sweet friend, for suggesting this and being willing to volunteer her time. She is a teacher extraordinaire and magical with kids. Hopefully this will be a really special camp that we can continue and add on to next summer 💗!

I wanted to tell you about this handsome gentleman and his wonderful permanent foster mom. Meet Max. He is 18 years old, and his owner passed away a few months ago. His now foster mom saw a post about him and really wanted to take him, but she’s in nursing school and was concerned about future vet costs. This is EXACTLY the kind of situation I want to help with! So, he’s with her for the rest of his life, and we will cover his medical needs as they arise. She is taking him to my vet today for a checkup. I’m so so thrilled to have been connected with this kind soul and her new old man 😻!
Every time I prepare for a room installation, I run around the house grabbing tools and supplies and putting them in a random tote or paper bag 🤦♀️. Then I unload it all when I’m done. I decided it was time to get my own tools and bag dedicated to design projects. Genius 😜. And heck yes, everything is PINK!! 💗
Since I can’t take in any new cats here, I’m trying to help in other ways like covering vet care for seniors in shelters. Hoping that might increase chances for adoption. This sweet old soul at the Harrison County Shelter has really been tugging at my heartstrings. Here is what they say about her….
“This Crusty Old Queen is Lacey and we are hoping we can find the perfect person for her. She’s an old lady. She has chronic health conditions that require frequent medical treatment. She gets a daily immune support supplement. All she wants to do is eat and nap and live the rest of her days laying in the sun at her FURever home. She sleeps basically 23 hours a day and only gets up to find snacks and go potty. She is a real gem. A true Queen. Please come and meet her.❤️”
Lacey will be heading to my vet on Friday. She needs a second opinion on the condition of her mouth….may be stomatitis or there was mention of a possible nasal tumor. I really want to help them and her get answers so everyone will know the best way to proceed. She clearly deserves love and good care 💗! I’ll keep you posted.
Decided to wash our sofa cushion covers a few hours ago, went outside, and returned to this 🤦♀️😭. He’s lucky he’s so sweet and cute 😂.

Back at design 💫. Today’s trunk of treasures…..both new and old. For two different clients, but I love how it all coordinates.
This rascal gave us a scare. Groucho had lost weight and needed teeth pulled, so we had that done several weeks ago. Then he stopped eating and lost another pound. Took him to back to the vet and his mouth was only slightly inflamed so tried meloxidyl with no change. He was just wandering around the house checking food bowls and drooling. Bloodwork was all good, so I was really concerned about what the heck was wrong. They were about to insert a feeding tube, but this quirky boy stayed at the vet clinic for 9 days and started eating on his own with basically no treatment 🤦♀️. So glad to have him back home, and he better keep eating!! We love our one of a kind Grouchopants so much 💗.
First of all, I want you to thank everyone who donated to Sheldon’s vet care!! I’m SO grateful for all of you 🥹❤️! He is healing up as you can see in the photos. I know it’s hard to look at, but I’m amazed at how quickly the wounds have begun to close up. He isn’t aggressive at all, just very scared. Thankfully, he can leave the vet tomorrow. His dear rescuer, Regina, is going to care for him in a quiet room where she can gain his trust and give him the love he so deserves. I will keep all of you updated on his progress!!
Meet Sheldon 💔. This poor guy showed up at my dear friend’s home last week. She cares for many wayward souls and new ones always appear when they need help most. She was able to trap him yesterday morning and get him to my vet. I happened to be there with one of our cats when they arrived, so I got to see his head wounds and talk to him a little. Sweet scared boy. Dr. Wade neutered him and began treatment for these awful wounds. He tested positive for FIV but negative for felv, thank goodness!! He will be staying at the clinic for several days while he heals.

I’ve been cleaning foster rooms all day, and just sat down to love on Sylvie. She has become the softest cotton ball ever. She can’t hear anything so the vacuum doesn’t bother her. She just follows me around rubbing my legs. I love her to pieces 💗.
I’ve been spending this week evaluating my priorities, my needs, my worries….while cleaning, reflecting, being quiet, being emotional, organizing, breathing through anxiety….all the things. Because I’m tired and frustrated, but also grateful and hopeful. I’ll figure it all out. Mostly, I just want to BE this summer and enjoy my favorite season.

Iggy Bird got her angel wings today. Thank you ALL for the outpouring of love for her over the past few weeks. I’m so grateful that I got to be her mama even for a short time. Love you so much, little one 💗.

Iggy Bird in her new sweater after a meal 💗. I don’t think there is much time left for her, and I won’t let her linger into suffering. She’s tired, and it’s becoming harder for her to eat. But we are snuggled up watching tv for now. Purrs are happening 🥹.
Look at our sweet Iggy! She has to be syringe fed several times a day because she can’t eat on her own due to the tumor in her mouth. She is painfully thin, but I think she’s already gaining a little weight. This “baby bird” as I call her is so loving and happy. After meals, I clean her up and she just purrs and makes biscuits on me. I ADORE her. I’ll be getting her a little wardrobe of sweaters to keep her warm while her fur grows back. Taking this day by day, and I’m so grateful to have her here 💗.

Update on our newest intake 💔.
Look who is here ❤️❤️❤️! Bailed out of the shelter this morning, transported to my vet where he spent the day, and now happily rolling around in our guest bathroom. I’m not going to name him since he has an adopter, so he’s just sweet pea for now. He had bloodwork done (all good!), an antibiotic injection, dewormer, and flea meds. He will be on meloxidyl to help with any mouth pain until his dental is done on the 19th. Going to enjoy loving on him!!
