A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone that donated supplies and sent money to purchase more. We were able to take a load of farm supplies to the Agricultural Center in Canton today. We took 5 pallets of a variety of animal feed, 200 t-posts and 2 rolls of barbed wire, 10 gate posts, and 60 Equine care kits and buckets. They were so appreciative and we were able to load supplies directly into personal vehicles to be delivered to families that lost everything.

The mountains are so beautiful this time of year but even a month later, you are quickly reminded of the devastation Hurricane Helen brought. It's so amazing to see how neighbors and the community have come together to help each other. Stay strong. ❤️

We are working to help get relief supplies to western NC locations for distribution. We have a load going Saturday of hay rolls (thanks Nick Hanes and Hanes Farm) and calf milk replacer which will be delivered directly to some dairy farmers in need (thanks Paul and Amy Marlowe). We also are gathering chicken feed, rabbit food, and dog food, which are some requested needs from the livestock center, to take this weekend also.
If any of you are willing and able to contribute to this cause, please let me know. We are doing what we can to help out and since we are making the trip anyway, the more we can take, the more people can be helped.

If anyone can help with hurricane relief, there is a local organization flying and hauling supplies into western NC for people and livestock as part of Operation Airdrop. Please go to their web site if you can help and learn what you can send, items like new generic clothing (sweats or crocs), pet food, wound care supplies, water filters like hikers use, etc, but not bottled water because it's too heavy to put on the planes.
For anyone local to me, I'm going to the Concord staging area tomorrow afternoon and can haul supplies down there if you can get items to me today or tomorrow morning.
Operation-airdrop.com
There is all the info there. Note that used supplies are ok for livestock, like clean but used leg wraps, but all people supplies must be new (no used clothing).

Operation Airdrop is a Texas-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that mobilizes volunteer pilots and aircraft to deliver essential supplies to communities affected by natural disasters, specializing in hurricane relief efforts. Join us in our mission to help those in need.
