Missing in NC
I am sure that there are some people out there who wonder why I am continuing to look for my girl. It's been 7 weeks, leads seem to come slowly, lots of work on signs and flyers, plus my life has somewhat been consumed by the whole process.
The best way I can describe the reason why, is the fact that this English Shepherd breed is in my blood. English Shepherds are actually a US breed which started out as a landrace breed. I grew up with the breed because my grandparents had them on their farm. Over 20 years ago, I came back to the breed as an adult. I have not regretted one minute of the journey with my English Shepherd family.
When I have a dog, it is mine for life ... no matter what. My English Shepherds tend to live for 14 plus years. That is one reason why I don't have so many different dogs at my house. Each dog here is a cherished member of my family. Roper is as well.
Roper has been my "baby" girl for over 6 years. She has a funny sense of humor, loves to be the peace maker and would do anything for me and I would do the same for her. She has been my agility partner, my snake killer, my mole killer, etc. I want to continue my journey with Roper. Six years is not long enough.
She was not dumped, nor abandoned. I truly believe that she did get turned around and couldn't find her way back home. She is loved and missed very much.
Five days after Roper went missing, we had to say goodbye to her mother (14 1/2 years old). This has not been an easy time for me and my family. I am needing to bring Roper back home, but I need your help to do it.
Please be my ears and eyes in your part of North Carolina and beyond. At this point she could have been picked up and taken out of state. She could have been picked up locally and can't get back on her own because she is always on a leash or in a kennel. She could still be out there on her own, still trying to get back home.
Be very aware of your surroundings and dogs that are new to your neighborhood. She could be there.
Just know how much we appreciate you taking the time to read this post, being on the lookout for Roper & sharing notices about her. Prayers are welcomed for her continued safety and safe return.
Thank you so much for being an extended family network for us during this search!
