VOLUTEERS NEEDED STAURDAY OR SUNDAY.. Our Memorial Garden and dog play yard and outside grass area needs some volunteers that enjoy yard work. It going to be nice. The Memorial Garden needs weeds pull and trim some bushes. The grass area need clean up and trimming. The flower tire outside need planting. The dog play yard needs clean up. Notice to the public:
We had to think long and hard about how to put into words the brokenness we feel as rescuers as of lately. The shelters are beyond full and many are losing their no kill status due to the overwhelming amount of dogs & cats that are coming in daily. There are dogs being dumped, left behind, abandoned, and owner-surrendered. We're seeing dogs that have lived with families since they've been puppies. They are all ages. For example, 5 , 8 , and 14 year old animals with families surrendering at alarming rates. The reasons we are seeing range from, "I am moving and can not take them with me" to "My grandma or parents passed away and we can not take it." Life changes. It is not fair to them! Lately, we as rescuers have heard it all. To the owner breaking the commitment for the pet that you took into your home and loved, we are now holding them while they cry and try to cheer them up when their heart is broken because you walked out the door and left them behind. People lately feel it is our job to take the pet they want to surrender one way or another. When we have to say we are full, they do not care how many hours we work or the lives we put on hold to pick up the pieces they leave behind. It has broken many of us to the core. Things turn at a moment's notice in our daily work of saving the animals of KY. We have a waiting list a mile long, but there are emergencies when an animal's life hangs in the balance. Owners get pi**ed at us when we can not make room for the promise and commitment they made to their pet when they first adopted them or brought them into their family. Many yell at us because we can not help. We are trying our best. Many rescues are not even taking owner surrenders because they are trying to get to the 1000's of animals in the shelters in KY who are about to die. Yes, die, because Kentucky is in an animal crisis! When a rescue steps up to help you, it is a promise. Be kind to your veterinarian staff and rescue people because we are doing the best we can every single day for the animals of Kentucky. Thank you to all our supporters. Our volunteers and fosters are Heroes helping the Paws 4 the Cause life saving TEAM!!! Prayers to all our rescues and rescuers out in Kentucky fighting the fight. Paws 4 the Cause is sending you all of our love ! Please pray for all the lives that did not make it this month because we lost so many sweet dogs and cats due to the crisis.....

Rainbow shining right on our roof when we left tonight at Paws 4 the Cause. Our team worked hard this week and our new partnership with the kitty adoption at Feeder Supply has been working over time. Our open house adoption event was successful also. Go Go Team Paws 4 the cause we had 18 dogs find forever homes and as of tonight 20 cats have found amazing forever homes..... The rainbow is a true sign God is smiling down at all the work we do for his precious Kentucky animals .... A total of 38 lives saved and changed forever due to sharing, networking and partnerships we are so proud of. The girls at Feeder Supply on Richmond Road and Harrodsburg road are amazing animal loving people who give their all to help find kitties a home. We so so proud of our Team and all our supporters such blessing !!! Our foster are amazing people who go above and beyound to make things happen for the love in their heart for the animals ..... YOU ALL ARE ROCK STARS !!! If you adopt this weekend please in the comments send us pictures of your new babies.

Happy Sunday!! Lily story...... We received a call from Animal Control in a rural area of Eastern Kentucky. She came into the shelter with her front paw being held up and they had sent her to the vet. The shelter that looked for a medical adoption partner and of course we said yes. Lily is about 24 lb a terrier mix and the sweetest girl ever. Once you went to our vet and had an X-ray done her front paw was broken at the ankle. This was something that could not be repaired. So the Dr Kevin Fueller said it would be best to have her leg removed because the damage was to old and too severe to be repaired. Lily has adapted well to being three legged. She had an amazing Foster Bonnie that helps her through the healing process. Bonnie now has been released to be adopted by a loving family. She gets along with dogs and cats. She doesn't let her disability stop her from running and playing and enjoying life. Lily's cost did not come cheap if anybody would be able to help by donating for her medical costs so we can continue to save lives like hers. Her medical coast was $1,800.00. Spring is here we going to try this again. We had fence companies reach out and never heard back we need to get this done in the next month. It is total cleaned out waiting to get done. Looking for a fence company that might be able to do a donation of a section of fencing or a company to sponsor it. We have our play yard that has a side by the railroad track that has a chain link fence. We noticed when the train comes by it scares some of our rescue enjoying outside time in the play yard. So we would like to clean out the scrubs and put up a 6 foot wood fence. It is about 90 feet of fencing give or take. It would cut down on the noise also. Today is the day we are so excited we have a silent auction item it's a Mitchell electric guitar with a case and beginner lessons .... Come by and see us this Saturday, March 15th from 4-9pm at Greyline Station for the Kentucky Pop-Ups St. Patrick's Sip and Shop at the Greyline! We hear there will be over 65 vendors, live entertainment, yummy food, and drinks! We will have Old Kentucky Chocolates chocolate bars available at our booth for a small minimum donation to our Emergency Medical Fund! **Update**There will also be cute pet bowls and dog toys available with a minimum donation!

Our Paws 4 the Cause team members will also be available to talk about fostering, adopting, and volunteering!

Please keep calling 1-800-372-7181 and emailing ALL legislators not to vote for any amendment or substitute on any bill that contains SB 122 retail pet sales language! ALSO SB-25 SAY NO TO ANY AND ALL LEGISLATION TO PROMOTE THE SALE OF PUPPIES AND KITTENS IN PET STORES NOW !!!!
