We are currently developing our community center in downtown Lexington which will feature an expanded kennel area and low cost spay/neuter. 100% of all donations go directly to pay for outreach housing, food and medical needs for stray and indigent animals, and to help other organizations who participate in such needs. This is unconditional love......... On 9/11, a guide dog named Roselle led a group of people including her blind owner down more than 1,463 steps to safety before the North Tower collapsed. She only stopped to give kisses to calm a woman who was having a panic attack.
Roselle was credited with saving at least 30 others. The canine hero was awarded the Award for Canine Excellence (ACE) in the service dog category in 2002. She died in June 2011 at the age of 14. 💔

Today is a Big Day for one of our long time rescues. We're happy and overjoyed to share Hope found her forever home. Hope came to us in May of this year. A good samaritan found her in a rural area of Eastern Kentucky alone, starved, open infected wounds and bullet holes. Hope came a long way because of the team effort of many. Our vet team at Central Kentucky Veterinary Center healed her wounds but her foster healed her heart and never gave up on her. They helped her get ready for her new forever family. We are so happy for sweet Hope that for the rest of her life she will be loved and safe. Your support is what changes so many lives. Your donation dollars help our Team make changes in so many animals' lives each and every day. We want to thank everyone who supports our mission.

We like to give a big shout out to Clean Sweep Car wash on Broadway and Newtown Pike.... They did an amazing clean up on some of our vehicles in the last two days at a great discount. They have an amazing store inside with really nice gifts. Leave a heart below so they can see the love. Remember Roady and his story? He was so loved by so many that we at Paws 4 the Cause teamed up with Mom-Mom's Lavender Farm here in Lexington to raise money for our life saving "Emergency Medical Fund". We will be helping so many more rescues like him with this exciting partnership. The new Roady stuffed dog has a rescue story and is filled with lavender that smells amazing and helps with stress. You can even use it on a sore neck, once warmed up. It can also be a warm buddy for a child you has trouble sleeping or has anxiety. Roady is named after one of our rescues and has an amazing life saving story. We are very excited about this partnership and will continue this program, called "Tenderpaws". Today was a Big day for adoptions. But one that just makes us jump for joy is Buck !!!! From waiting for months in a rural shelter, then getting his freedom ride to Paws 4 the Cause . A very sweet lady that lost her two fur baby's decided she need to meet Buck and give him that forever home. I am sure the veteran that served our country for 20 years is now at peace and smiling down from heaven. Foster found !!!! Thank you Emily !!! Annie needs a foster ASAP !!! MEDICAL CASE HER name is Annie and she is about as perfect as a dog can be.
She came into a rural shelter as a stray and was not reclaimed. Why? Because dogs are being dumped in rural areas in large numbers.
She was already spayed, updated vaccines and heartworm tested her, and sadly, she is positive. Heartworm positive and will need treatment in 20 days. She thin and needs to gain weight.
She is 35 lbs of pure love and I adore her. She’s great with dogs and cats, loves people, and will stick by your side.
She now needs someone to step up for her and foster her. We are begging because she desires to be loved and spoiled. Many people have asked about the dogs we have taken from the situation in Garrard County and how they can help. We would like to welcome Kira, a 4-5 year old female husky, Dakota, a 4-5 year old female husky and Sweet Ellie, a female 4- 5 month old female husky. These three girls have had medical issues that need addressing. We are asking for help with their medical bills. Kira and Dakota had to have major dental work done to get their mouths healthy again, spays, updated shots, de-worming, heart worm testing, flea and heart worm prevention and micro chipped. The medical cost has been $950.00 total for all three, so if you can help us with the cost that would be amazing. Please donate whatever you can! Buck had his freedom ride out of the shelter after months of waiting.... Amy Lutton and her son picked the sweet boy up on Sunday. Hats off to Amy Lutton and her son..... Buck will get a full check up tomorrow at our vet and start the.process of finding a forever home to live out his life. What we know so far is he is the sweetest soul ever. "Buck, you don’t know it yet, but thanks to Paws 4 the Cause, you have already spent your last night at the shelter after many months of waiting, all while grieving the death of your owner who was a Veteran of 20 years. "

No more pacing the play yard, looking for your freedom.

Looking for a fence company that might be able to do a donation of a section of fencing or a company to sponsor it. We have our play yard that has a side by the railroad track that has a chain link fence. We noticed when the train comes by it scares some of our rescue enjoying outside time in the play yard. So we would like to clean out the scrubs and put up a 6 foot wood fence. It is about 90 feet of fencing give or take. It would cut down on the noise also. Dartagnan's Rescue Story: His story started months ago when a rural shelter reached out to us about a dog who was going to lose his front leg due to his injuries. Dart had his surgery and came to our kennel. We then reached out to a foster team that does amazing work with rehabilitation. The foster team of Carrie & Kade knew it would be a hard road for Dart because he was a big teddy bear. A larger dog amputation is not easy for them and in later years it takes a toll. The girls already saw Dart's limitations and wanted to do more. They started a research campaign and found help. They reached out to our general manager, Anita, and put a plan into action. They found Joey's Paw in Butler PA. to sponsored the prosthetic. They reached out to 3D Pets in NJ to make it. All the stars aligned for Dart and he now able to do things he could never do before. He so loves the prosthetic and it gives him the freedom he so longed for. Sometimes it takes a big Village to come together to make amazing things happen. Paws 4 the Cause has a big animal loving Team!! Hats off to Carrie & Kade for going the extra mile to get this boy what he needed. Paws 4 the Cause Team has been busy collecting things for Garrard County Shelter . We are going to fill our van once again to bring much needed supplies to the shelter. They are caring for 75 huskies from the hoarding case. We are going to pull one of the dogs when we deliver supplies. That husky will need a foster home. Paws 4 the Cause Team has been busy !! We like to thank Amy for calling pet stores in the area for food donations. A big Thank you to Sheryl, the employees and customers from SewAlot . They worked all day yesterday making over 80 dog beds for the rescues taken in by Garrard County shelter. We had many fosters step up to foster the dogs we already have at our kennel waiting for homes so we could pull in two Garrard County shelter dog in jeopardy of being put down because of the amount of dogs they took in for the court case. Today Jenny with the Way Home Rescue Alliance will drive the transport van loaded to the top with donations. Jenny will also give Maxamus his freedom ride to Paws 4 the Cause. It truely takes a Village to make things happen and we are so overwhelmed with the out pouring support. This week we will continue to collect donation of dog food. Our foster families are the life line in saving lives. Many fosters it becomes a family affair..... Here is one that has worked with our adoption director for over 14 years. The foster families become a part of our Team and we consider them family. Here is Griggs, Molly, Maddie, Eli and Gus 😃 Gus comes with his mom all the time to the kennel to help choose the next foster. He is 9 years old and he looks at the dogs that need Foster and he weighs it out who's going to be the best dog to fit their home and a dog that really needs their help. This last month he decided with his mother that Murphy was said and he came from a hoarding case and needed a chance to be loved by a family below you will see what this 9 year did to promote his foster to find his forever family for Christmas. My name is Richie Rich I am about 6 yrs. old and a real gentleman for sure. I am a big love bug and have so much love to give you. I was hit by a car last week, and I am ok and feeling better. But when the vet took my blood and did a test, he told some bad news that I really do not understand. He said I have worms growing in my heart and they need to not be there. So I have to take medicine for 60 days and then they will give me medicine to kill the worms in my heart. I do not really mind the kennel, but I really want to snuggle with someone the whole time. So if you can foster me I promise to love you unconditional and keep you warm at night! I do not take too much room! I will bring my own bag of food. *PLEASE SHARE!* We went to Estill County Animal Shelter this past Sunday and rescued 17 lives. This past week we have saved over 20 lives. We owe this all to our fosters, supporters, and partnering rescues. We aren't able to help these animals without you! Thank you to Bluegrass Bully Rescue for taking a mama dog, and to the Kentucky Humane Society for taking her puppies, along with 7 other puppies. Thank you Kathryn and Lisa for transporting! We can not save these lives alone, so it definitely takes a rescue nation! The other 3 are with our rescue, and are enjoying our play yard and warm facility. Please support your rural shelters. These workers are doing all they can for these animals, with what they are given. To make the needed changes in these animal's lives, we need better laws. We need better facilities.
