Knight Update:
Our sweet boy has been doing great here at the hospital with us! His ear is still being treated, at first glance it looked like a surgery was going to be needed to fully take care of the issue, however after treating it a couple of times and keeping him on antibiotics to prevent further infection, his ear drastically improved and surgery will no longer be needed. We plan to do a couple more treatments, and after that, everything should be completely resolved. If you or anyone you know are interested in fostering or adopting him please comment or reach out! As much as all of the employees love having him here, We are not a foster and unfortunately don’t have the space to continue to keep him here, We’re doing everything we can to find him a new forever home but we would greatly appreciate any help y’all can give!

Hey everyone! Meet Knight, he is a 6yr old male german shepherd and the sweetest boy! He came in a few weeks ago to be euthanized but during the exam, we discovered that the reason he was being put to sleep was due to his poor ear that was never treated properly! We recommended treatment or offered to find a foster, and unfortunately, the owner declined and still elected to euthanize the pet. None of the staff was comfortable so we decided to ask her is she would consider surrendering him, she agreed and since then, this sweet boys been doing great here with us!!
He’s very friendly and has shown no signs of aggression towards other pets or anyone here, he really just wants love and attention!
He’s neutered and fully updated on vaccines, we are still currently treating his ear and searching for his new home!
If you or anyone you know are interested in taking him home, please don’t hesitate to comment on this post, send a private message or call our office anytime at (336)249-7078.💗🐾

Hey everyone!! Meet Diablo (The brown boxer mix) and Kimbo! (The white pit mix) These sweet babies came to us about a week ago, after their owner suddenly passed away. They were being ”looked after” by someone else in the household. A neighbor watched as they were being put outside in the cold and not being cared for! The Neighboor eventually couldn’t take it and brought the babies
here to us. They are both very sweet and very social.
Since being brought to us they have been completely caught up to date on their vaccines, tests and have been neutered!!
Kimbo and Diablo both have some old scars on the face, and body, most likely from being left outside and having to fend for themselves, Both babies definitely need to put on a little weight as well.
Since being here they have caused no problems and are always very excited for morning pets!
Although they loveeee playing, we would recommend not using any squishy toys as kimbo loves to try to find the squeakers!
They do get fed separately to avoid any issues due to us not fully knowing their past.
What we can tell you, is that both of these babies have definitely been through some things.. they went from having an amazing owner, to being left outside in the cold and forgotten about, through all of this, both babies still have so much love to give, and love any kind of attention they can get!
If you personally, or anyone you know, would like to come meet these babies and see if they might be the perfect fit to your family, please let us know!!

The ideal choice for these babies would definitely be getting them go to a forever home together!! Being as they have always been at each others side!
However we do know, that sometimes it’s impossible to send them together, so even if you might just be interested in one of the babies, please send us a message!

Hey everyone! I’m sorry it took so long for an update on River! After our first post we had a lot of people come to meet with him and a lot of things lined up for him but unfortunately it fell through. The staff was heartbroken for River and a worker at the Animal Hospital offered to take him home with her over the weekend, She has 2 other dogs and he ended up doing very very well. She brought him back into the office on Monday 10/3 to have him Neutered so that he would have a better chance of being placed in a rescue. We kept him there with us at the animal hostpital for a few days until he was off of all pain medication and then River went back home with the employee on Thursday. The original plan was that she was going to foster him until we could find him his forever home but her and her family have decided that River is the perfect fit and they couldn’t imagine not keeping him, he has become part of the family! We are all so so happy for River🐾💕 and want to thank everyone on here for sharing, reposting, and reaching out! Again, we are so so sorry for the late update, and promise to continue to update everyone on his progress!

This is River! He is 1yr 6m old, and he is a rescue that was saved from a man who was severely beating and starving him. The lady that rescued him has had him in an outside 6x6 ft. kennel since she got him about 6 months ago.
River was brought into our animal hospital by his owner for the first time on 9/27/2022 to be euthanized for “aggression”.
However the more time that was spent with River by multiple employees in the office, the more it showed that River is a sweet boy who wants lots of love… and no one was seeing any signs of aggression. The owner kept changing her story and the entire situation was very odd…
Many of the employees felt very strongly about the situation, so we were calling rescues while they were in the office trying to find an alternative. However the owner declined taking the pet home even an extra day or two until we could find a rescue or foster to take him in and the owner still wanted to euthanize him.
An employee then offered to pay to treat River for all of the fleas he had and board him at the vet for the rest of the week so she could try to find someone who could take him in. The owner ended up agreeing.
Unfortunately we only have until Friday 9/30/22 to place this sweet baby, if not, we will have to give him back to the owner and he will be euthanized the same day.
Please call the office at (336)249-7078 if you or anyone you know is interested in taking him in. There is a much longer story that we will be happy to share with you. As well as pictures and videos of River since he has been here in the office.
He will be neutered, and brought completely up to date on vaccines at no charge to the new owner. We will even send home 6 months of flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

CAPC Recommendations for Fleas:

- All dogs should be treated year-round and throughout their life with flea control products to limit infestations on the pet and prevent establishment of flea populations in the home

- Recognize that flea infestations, once established, may take several months to bring under control and that to achieve control, every pet in the home must be treated

- Address flea infestations on pets as a public health concern; people in infested environments are often bitten by newly emerging fleas, inciting an allergic response, and fleas transmit a number of zoonotic agents

Meet our Mr. Hammy Jammy! Hammy has been here at the hospital with us for about a month now, unfortunately Hammy had suffered a dog attack and has had a pretty “ruff” road to recovery. Hammy gets all the love from the girls whenever they have spare time. Hammy is a definite mommas boy, and he sure has a good momma!!
