Halloween is upon us, and we are hosting a trick or treat event…KPFL style. That means we are opening up our outdoor kennel space for you to bring YOUR little HUMAN critters, to show off their amazing costumes to OUR FURRY critters.

Please leave your pets at home, and even though it’s spooky season our animals don’t want to be scared. Instead, spook one of our KPFL volunteers.

See you from 4:30pm-5:30pm on October 30th at the KPFL shelter.

Families are invited to adorn their Halloween costumes a day early, and visit our outdoor kennel spaces where there will be a dog and a greeter waiting to give you a piece of candy. Please wear outdoor shoes, layers, and bring a candy receptacle.

Thank you to our wonderful community who showed up to support KPFL for our 23rd Bow Wow Bash! Together, with generous donations by local businesses and individuals, we raised $13,200 for our shelter !

I'm Shadow. I'm four years old and have grown up enough to realize humans are good and kind and it's really neat when they pet me. I have to know them, of course and since only my current friends see me, I thought I'd show you a little of my personality. So, you know that cat that taught you to respect all cats and read body language least you miss a clue and get nailed? That would be me. My name is Tigress and I successfully protected my four kittens in the wild until we came here. The kids are in good hands, waiting for homes and I am once again free to express myself. I WILL love you and love to be petted, on my terms. I will also make you bleed if you don't respect me. This look... it's for real. I'm confident and take no guff. I also am actually pretty good around other cats.

Anyone who knows labs, knows they need a human. Nine years old is too old to have lost a human but life changes and Tilly has ended up without hers. She is a wonderful girl who is past all the labor required for a young lab. She just needs some walks, some lap time - human or water. A sweeter girl you will not meet.

Do you remember Saturn and Pluto? Well, I'm their Mom, Jupiter. Now that the kids are on their own I'm ready to go back to being the kitten I mostly look to be. I'm a loving, playful girl who is ready to have a lifetime companion. I do love cuddles and with winter coming, what better time than to start NOW?
