It was vet day today. Coggins pulled, everyone dewormed, some needed X-rays, everyone got check ups, and 2 have pneumonia. It was a busy day!

Thank you to those who donated! We got the scale!!! This is such an asset to any rescue. We are tickled with excitement to be able to dose medication more accurately, watch thin ones progress as they gain weight and monitor weights at intake.

The 8th annual Donkey Dental Days was successful and a day we will put in the books! 71 dentals done.

There is an only weanling palomino c**t there that needs a chance. His fee is $1300 plus transport.

URGENT Can we save him?? He lost him momma and is unhandled.

Can we give to him that chance?

Can we get this scared baby out and safe?. Can our village do it? We have a few other similar aged foals there for him to bond with. Let’s make this happy! Many great pics to come.

Update on one of the horses that got a freedom ride out of Stroud. Some pictures from when we picked him up and then a couple from tonight. He is still a stallion because he has been too frail to geld. So it will be a while before that. Dentals will be on Wednesday.

Jaden, Earl, and Vivian are hoping for another bale of oat hay. It is a treat for them. We feed prairie bales all year round but once in a while we add the oat hay bales and they love them! They just polished this one off.

We had a great day today at the Jolly Mill Park for Heritage days. The donkeys are always a hit with the kids and adults alike!

We are in dire need of a scale for the equine. Here are some reasons;

Monitor weight gain
Monitor weight loss
More accurate medication dosing
More accurate record keeping.

It is really important for us to have one for those reasons alone. Every rescue should have one. Many do but we do not. Can we raise $1900 (includes freight) for a scale? We don’t ask for donations unless we are in need.

If we can get 100 people to donate $20 we would be able to get one!! Imagine how useful that would be.

Good morning from Hollie. Turn up the volume. We are on the home stretch! You all made it possible for her to walk with comfort. Let’s help her heal in as much comfort as we can. Hollie needs LOTS of shaving for the next 2-3 months. It takes 6 bags to bed her stall when stripped. We use minimum 2-3 bags a day depending if she has the ability to get out (weather related).
