Hi! We have had a lot of changes going on around here over the last several months! I took a break from posting for a while, but plan to start again! I’ll be posting about these changes in my next few posts, so stay tuned for some exciting news!😊🐶
We have both good news and some bad, but to start off with the bad, we had Burke OFA tested back in November, and unfortunately his results weren’t all as good as we had hoped! His hips rated good, and his left shoulder and elbow were normal as well, however his right elbow has mild dysplasia and arthritis, and his right shoulder has an OCD lesion and arthritis. We are super disappointed, as even though he is an amazing dog and sires beautiful pups, we are not going to keep breeding him after getting these results! We had him neutered as soon as possible, and we plan to have him stay with us and live out his retired years here, as we’ve had him for over four years now and everyone loves him!
We have always tried to do our best with breeding, and do things the right way, but we haven’t done everything perfectly! We have learned a lot, and are continually learning more! Moving forward, we plan to have all our dogs OFA tested in addition to the genetic testing!
I did reach out to some people who have bought pups from us, but simply don’t have the time to contact everyone! I apologize if you have gotten a pup from us and I did not reached out to you! You are welcome to reach out to me personally if you have questions or concerns and I will do my best to help! I don’t want there to be unnecessary concern, as I really don’t think there will be many, if any, issues from this, but we want to be up front about what’s going on, and be responsible about it!
Burke was our only stud, so this was a huge setback and disappointment for us, but we have found another reputable breeder to work with, and for the time being, we will be using his stud for our breeding program! Stay tuned for more exciting news regarding this!
