New Year's Eve and 4th of July are nerve-wracking holidays for animal shelters, and you can probably guess why: The fireworks. 🧨 While it's a fun light show for humans, it can be scary for our four-legged friends. We always see an uptick in lost and runaway pets during this time.

Please consider following these tips to keep your pet safe and give yourself some peace of mind this holiday! Some key points:

🎆 Only allow pets to go outside when necessary, and keep them on a leash
🎆 Create a place for them to hide indoors
🎆 Play calm music to mask the outside noise
🎆 Make sure your pet's ID tags are up to date

The staff at LAMC wanted to share their holiday cheer by teaming up and decorating each of our exam rooms. Each door belongs to a team who had lots of ideas and only 30 minutes to get them up! In the clinic we have a voting station to let us know who you think did best. Voting in the clinic goes until Dec. 22nd. Good luck to all those involved and may the odds be ever in your favor!

It’s that time of year where we try to show even more appreciation to the wonderful staff of Legacy. One of our wonderful friends and relief vets is going to Africa to volunteer her veterinary services. She will be helping with spays/neuters/vaccines among many other things. This meaning she will need to bring a lot of her own supplies/materials. If there is any way you can either give her some support or even a share she and us would greatly appreciate it!
