Our goals are in help ignite your passion, and help in all aspects of your next adventure! For years we as a family have served as a useful source for those seeking inspiration, help with training issues, and or advice! We founded Shultz's Red & Blue Heelers with one mission and that mission was to give others a delightful taste of what goes on in our heeler family and to encourage others to not only love this breed as much as we do, but to also help pass along the knowledge of this breed. We encourage all who may be interested in fully doing the work to know the ends and outs as best as you can for the Australian cattle dog can be a breed that may not be for everyone.DID YOU KNOW??? ACD descended from Dingoes originally bred because English sheep dogs "Kelpies" didn't have the oomph to worklong days under the HOT Australian sun moving cattle for hundreds of miles. So they were crossed with the native dingoes, and then later crossed with Dalmatians,Collies, and Kelpies to lock in the desired traits. ACD's are born white which most likely comes from there Dalmatian descendants. However they quickly become colorful and you will be able to begin to see there patterns by 6-8 weeks. They acquired the "Heeler" name from the job of driving cattle by nipping their heels. Australian Cattle Dog's wre excepted into the AKC in 1980, However Australian set the standard for the breed in 1903. The breed moved from the working group to the herding group in 1983 when AKC revised grouping. FUN FACT... The guinness world record is held by a ACD Bluey lived a record 29 years and 5 month!!!!
