Dear Clients and Friends,

Twenty-eight years ago, I started working at GreenTree Animal Hospital. At that time, it was just me and one technician who were hoping to build a thriving practice in Libertyville. Today, GreenTree has seven doctors and twenty-three support staff serving Libertyville and surrounding communities. I did not do this single handedly, I have all the veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives who have been a part of this journey to thank. Most of all, I have my family to thank for helping me reach my goals.

Now, with plenty of mixed emotions, I have decided to retire from veterinary practice at GreenTree Animal Hospital, effective December 23, 2024. Although I am excited to begin this next stage of my life, I will miss my work family and all my patients. Caring for you and your pets for the last twenty-eight years has been the greatest honor of my life, second only to being a mom to Sara and Clare.

I feel comfortable knowing that I am leaving you in the extremely capable and caring hands of excellent doctors, technicians, and care coordinators at GTAH. There may be occasions, in the future, when I will stop in to do some relief work, and I look forward to seeing you then.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the privilege of participating in the care of your pets; my career has been exceptionally fulfilling and it is because of you.

Hint: it's the reason we recommend doing x-rays during your dog's spay or neuter procedure- especially larger breed dogs

Edit:
You are all right! It's hip dysplasia. At this stage, we start a lot of joint supplements, prescription joint diet, adequan injections and librela injections for pain.
She will likely need surgery on the right hip in the future and rehab appointments. She is in good hands with our doctors at GreenTree! This is why it is so important to do screening xrays- early intervention is so helpful for these dogs!

Meet This Cutie. Sinead Joind The GreenTree Family Last Week. She Enjoyed All Of The Perks At Her Appointment, Especially The Churu!!! Sinead Is A Sphynk Cat. They Are Know For Their Lack Of Fur. Because They Have No Fur, They Lose A Significant Amount Of Body Heat. You Will Often See Them Sporting A Jacket Or Sweater.

Have you heard of a treat scatter? It's a great tool for reactive dogs. These are Dr. Hai's dogs. They react to people walking their dogs in front of the yard. I will open the window and throw a bunch of cheerios. They stop barking and focus on the cheerios. At the hospital, we use treat scatters during exams, trying to leave a room for excited dogs and many other reasons! It is not necessarily rewarding the behavior (ie barking in this situation), but helping calm an excited mind. Ask us how we can help by scheduling an appointment!
