We work FOR our dogs...literally! Adopting senior dogs (and other senior animals) can be costly so we provide services that helps to provide for their needs.

We provide for as many senior animals as the budget will allow. We are not a shelter or rescue group but we DO try to get our old dogs from shelters or rescue groups. Usually it’s slippers.
Today she decided to add my snow boots to her collection.

Never chews on them.
Just sleeps with them

Not bad for an old girl with minimal eyesight.

Happy Birthday Bella!!! I tried numerous times to get her to wear a birthday hat... she wasn't having it. We are approaching her 1 year "Gotcha-versary" with us too. How blessed are we to have her?!?!? Such a great dog. She is definitely a "daddy's girl"... loves trips to the farm and snuggling on the couch. She hates storms but LOVES her homemade food.

Bella is one of several of our dogs whose previous owner had passed away.

So we now have 2 - 13 year olds, 2 - 12 year olds and a 10 year old 🥰

Hoping we can celebrate many more birthdays with her!

Today we celebrate Fred! He turned 13 today so we celebrated with pancakes for everyone. 😀 Fred is the most remarkable little guy. He is the smallest and 2nd oldest in our packs. He can barely see but that does not stop him from running with confidence wherever he goes. Periodically he gets accidentally run over by a bigger dog or a cat but he just keeps going. I don't think we have ever heard him bark! He is the sweetest most chill little guy we have ever had. Fred is one of the few dogs that does not seem to have a "person." He is good with whoever.

We were contacted by Wabash County Animal Shelter, Inc. Wabash, Indiana in December 2023 to see if he we had a place for this sweet boy. He was found wandering the streets of Kokomo in the cold. We are so glad Fred landed with us. We all could learn a lot from Fred...

Hoping we have many more birthdays together

Two years ago today, we drove 2+ hours to meet Bennet at Wabash County Animal Shelter, Inc. Wabash, Indiana. He had been in several shelters for 2+ years and never had a meet and greet. Ben was full of surprises...some people would have said "red flags" but we packed him up and off we went to his new life.

He is the baby of our packs at just 10 years old. He is a sweet and quirky boy. Gotta love him 😀

Rene is all snuggled into her barn cat house to protect her from the cold. The barn cats have lots of hay to snuggle in and cat cozy's but an insulated cat container insures they will stay warm and dry.

8 years ago today...
* moving day... from Rossford to Lima
* Nic begins living in Lima but still working in Toledo
* 1st time living on her own
* Gotcha Day for Cody Bear
* 1st Hay Day
* reality of having 2 horses on her own property and caring for them 24/7

quickly followed by 1st vet visit... Howie was allergic to the shavings🤦‍♀️

What an eventful 8 years!!!
God is good!

Al and I decided to surprise Nic by cleaning stalls for her. I always say that as soon as the stalls are clean, Howie will come in and either pee or poo in them.

FYI, today he took 42 SECONDS to do so. Gotta love him

Ben (10YO) and Bud (13YO) were on the road to Gram's house today! Riley has been staying at Gram's while she is resting up a sore leg and OMM West is a little quieter than OMM East... 😀

Look who had a farm day this week!

Buddy was adopted from Ohio SPCA & Humane Society several years ago. He had been returned to the shelter 2X's... I am pretty sure it was because he was waiting for us! 😍 He found himself on the wrong side of the barrier but look how proud he was to make it back to the other side! Buddy is 13 years young.
