On Thursday we celebrated National Technician Week with our second annual Veterinary Olympics! Our staff tried their hand at:
-"Pill the Dog" - each person stood away from me wearing an e-collar and whoever caught the most out of 10 cotton balls got points.
-"Find the Nuggets" - 10 Reese's cups were thrown on the floor. Each team member had an e-collar placed to work as a blindfold and the rest of the team worked to lead them with their pooper-scooper to pick up the most "nuggets" in 30 seconds.
-"Urine Catch" - each staff member wore a gown and stood away from me. I shot 60mL of "urine" (water with yellow food coloring) and whoever caught the most got points.
-"IV Catheterize the Concerned Dog" - our team was challenged to place an IV catheter in a stuffed animal. The prop was used with a fluid filled IV line.
-Scavenger Hunt - everyone had the same 10 items to find in the clinic in the shortest amount of time. There was a bonus to whomever could find the oldest item in the clinic. The winner was Brooklyn who said the church pews that are in our front office!
-We ended our Olympics by enjoying a lunch provided by our partners at Elanco.
-The awards for our winners were sponsored by Covetrus.
1st Place - Dr Carder
2nd Place - Audrey Bundy, RVT
3rd Place - Cory Hess
