This is "Seven" with a full crop and so tiny. He's the youngest in a clutch of...yup, you guessed it...seven. He hatched even later than expected, there is usually a two day interval between hatchings. He took his time, I didn't think the egg was any good. And suddenly there he was, a tiny wiggly chick buried under his much larger siblings. I only figured out he was there because the egg was suddenly gone. His parents did a marvelous job taking care of him. Many times bird parents neglect the youngest and let them die, but greencheeks seem to be extraordinary attentive. Or maybe I'm just lucky with my pairs? I'm just amazed they hatched and fed such a huge clutch. Average is 4 to at most 6 chicks
