Update: Poppy

If you recall Poppy came to us with a liver shunt which required surgery to fix and save her life.

Poppy’s story:

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/eAxQ7VHULpfN92mq/?mibextid=WC7FNe

We are pleased to say Poppy had a cat scan to confirm the shunt and she then went right into surgery.

She is now recovering in her foster home doing well so far!!

We are so grateful to all who have donated toward her care. We are looking to raise an additional $1000-$1500 to help cover the total cost of $4700.

💲 We have a donor who is willing to match the first $500. 💵

Your support means a lot to us. Thank you.

What right do we have to do nothing about it?

Poppy update :
She went to the animal surgical center of Michigan located in Flint on Tuesday. They did at CT scan which confirmed one large liver shunt and they took her straight to surgery to repair it. She did great throughout the surgery and her time in the hospital. Poppy was discharged Wednesday afternoon.

Prognosis is good 80% of patients will regain total normal liver function and have an excellent outcome

She will be on restricted activity for three weeks

In two months, she will have her bloodwork rechecked

THANK YOU to everyone who helped Shelter To Home Animal Rescue by donating. We were able to raise $2,500 and her total bill was $5,500.

If you would still like to help Poppy you can still donate ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Everyone, please help this amazing puppy. Her name is Poppy.

She was brought to the Vets for a first puppy exam but was very sick. She had infections of her ears, eyes, skin and respiratory system. She had numerous external and internal parasites and was malnourished and underweight. Her owner could not help her and asked that we put her to sleep. Of course we could not put this gentle, sweet puppy to sleep so the owner agreed to relinquish her to us. The whole staff took care of her for weeks and one of the Doctors took her home at night.

Poppy was on the mend and looking so much better after proper care and treatment. We decided to do more bloodwork before her upcoming spay. Unfortunately we found more bad news for Poppy. She has a liver shunt and will need life saving surgery that only a specialist can do. This is something she was born with. She is currently happy and loved and not knowing how sick she is. This surgery can cost $7,000-$8,000 and is her only chance at survival.

A wonderful rescue group called Shelter to Home has agreed to take on her case and raise money for the surgery. Please help, any donation, big or small will help us get the care she deserves. Donations should be made directly to Shelter to Home. She will continue to be fostered through the vet staff and doctors
