Trademarc (Tre)
2007 Arabian gelding
15hh
Located in Ocala, Florida area

This handsome Arab is looking for his forever person!

Tre (Trademarc) is a very sensitive horse with a lot of try. Could be successful in multiple disciplines but needs someone who can be patient with him as he develops confidence and relaxation. He will shine with a soft and confident rider who can help him be comfortable and happy in every situation. Could suit a young / junior rider with a steady trainer to help them along.

No vices! Trailers, ties, easy keeper, leads, clips, bathes, stands for vet and ferrier.

Reason for sale: My client’s grandchildren have taken a greater interest in other things. Contact Kit at 269-720-9829 (please leave a message if no answer).

Will continue in training but is currently mid to high x,###.
PM for video.

Ever heard someone say to never take your jacket off while on a horse? 🤦🏼‍♀️

If your horse can't tolerate a jacket flapping in the wind, it likely can't tolerate many other random environmental stimuli either. Instead, work on building their confidence in lots of different situations.

Some of the biggest “aha!” moments of my riding career came when I was a working student with Marion Alway. Here is one of my takeaways that has helped me (especially with dull horses)!

**Forward motion is actually the starting point of all true connection. Without it, it is much harder for the horse to actually align himself well and the ride becomes very nit-picky. Think of the impulsion as clay and the roundness / flexion as the hands that shape it.**

Tips!

✅ Eyes up! 👀⬆️ Focus is key
✅ Think about his hind legs reaching up to touch his front legs
✅ Use your whip to “tap tap” and encourage his b***y to get movin!
✅ Don’t be afraid to touch his mouth! Keep the softness but remember he needs a clear and firm signal / line of communication.

#1 MISTAKE I see in working through brace with dominant horses: Releasing the pressure *before* the horse does what you initially asked for.

Oftentimes, horses with big personalities and strong opinions can talk their handlers into avoiding a fight instead of getting to the root of the issue.

Notice how in the second photo, the tension on the rope stays the same as I re-anchor my arm at my side and *add* pressure with the stick. As soon as she gives, the stick lowers and the pressure comes off.

Look for this cutie at the Thoroughbred Makeover with Shannon Norris in October!

Trouble with trailer loading? We've all been there! Here are three things to keep in mind:

⭐️ It's not about the trailer. We tend to get very direct-lined in our thinking when we need to load our horses to go somewhere, which can add frustrations and anxiety for both horse and human. Try playing with the trailer as if it's just another obstacle and allow their curiosity to build.

⭐️ Check your "building blocks." Trailer loading combines a lot of difficult elements for horses: getting in a small space, loud noises, proper response to the pressure of sending them on / moving them around. If one or all of these pieces are broken, trailer loading is the last of your concerns. Break it down, find what's broken, and fix that before you put it all back together.

⭐️ Make the trailer a happy place! (**This doesn't mean bribe them to get on.) If you are able to spend some time relaxing with your horse, give them hay or grain inside or around the tailer. If they load happily, let them enjoy special treats like apples or carrots. Pretty soon, they'll be offering to hop right on!
