Luna is a gentle girl with lots of love to give.. She is approximately 2 years old, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm & lyme negative, and microchipped. She is a friendly dog who enjoys lounging on her bed and relaxing with her people.. She can be a bit shy with new people at first, but with some time and patience you'll be her new best friend. Luna is also good with other dogs (she previously attended doggy daycare). Luna loves playing in the snow and playing fetch with us at the shelter. She is house-trained and knows her basic commands, and she is crate trained. We would recommend a home with children 13 years old and up due to her nervousness with loud noises/fast movements. We unfortunately do not have any history on how she is with cats in the home. If you would like to hear more about Luna, or if you would like to schedule a meet and greet, give us a call at 401-333-0950. :)

Happy Update Post! Miss Penny was adopted to a wonderful family right before Christmas, and needless to say she is absolutely thriving! This little lady was originally found abandoned in Lincoln on a bitter cold night.. She was found underweight and was riddled with skin issues.. Now, her parents have told us that she's the love of their life, and that she's a complete daddy's girl, haha. We miss you sweet girl, and we are so happy for you that you've found your forever home

Meet Layla & Lucy (information on each dog is posted in their pictures below). These two little girls have come such a long way since they were first found living in squalor.. They're both approximately 2-3 years old, 35 lbs, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for heartworm & lyme disease. Both of them are house trained, and do great in the car. We're unsure how they would do in a home with other dogs or cats. We believe another laid-back dog in the home would be okay after doing a meet and greet with each dog. Layla and Lucy are good with children and new people. Lucy is available for adoption at this time, please read Layla's information on her picture below. Give us a call at 401-333-0950 to schedule a meet and greet or to hear more about them :)

PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction on cruelty charges of the person(s) responsible for dumping a dead dog at Barney’s Pond on Smithfield Avenue. On December 14, the Lincoln Police Department responded to a report of a dead animal in a trash bag in the parking lot of the pond and discovered the body of a severely emaciated dog with visible signs of trauma. They believe the body was left between the evening of December 13 and the morning of December 14. A white Toyota RAV4 may be connected to the case and is considered a vehicle of interest.

Anyone with information about the deceased dog or the vehicle should contact Detective Lieutenant Brad Stewart at 401-333-8485.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lincoln Police Department at 401-333-1111. We have reason to believe the incident occurred in the evening hours of Friday 12/13/2024. The dog is a large pit mix breed, black in color with white markings on the chest, female, and was wearing a blue color. The dog was presumably used for solely for breeding, severely emaciated, with multiple wounds seen throughout the body.

Lincoln police said they are seeking help after finding a deceased dog in a trash bag in a parking lot on Saturday.
