Euro Mounts, my process of maceration gives you the same end result as using beetles (but I don’t have to take care of another “animal” lol)

All the nasal detail stays intact. And the bone stays strong.

This degreasing step is often skipped when boiled. It is crucial in keeping your mount white and stink free. Consequently, it does take at least 6 weeks to get all the grease out of skulls.

Worth a beautiful euro however!

Still offering $$ for deer capes

I can dispose any of the cape for you as well, if that helps. I do have someone looking for deer tails for his small business, so I do save those for him. I can’t offer money for those however.

I will be offering $$ for Deer capes again this year. I’m just going to be a bit more picky.

I will only accept capes that are at least 20” measured behind the ears as shown in the photo. Looking for essentially no tick damage, no excessive cuts or drag marks. I’ve collected enough of those types of capes in the years past lol. Looking for better quality.

The time has finally arrived!! Good luck this rifle season

Be prepared and have a plan if you shoot a deer in this warm weather. It’s not looking like we’ll be able to hang them all week. The cape is just as susceptible to rotting as the meat. Coolers can work short term, but do not let the cape get wet. It needs to stay dry.

Thanks Auto Glass Express - Auto•Commercial•Residential•Showers and other sponsors and volunteers for the extreme (and exhausting) work you all put in to make this happen for the kids. I know it was a convincing incentive to keep my 6 year old in the blind for more than 2 minutes 😂 was very helpful to get him to take his first deer! Made mom and dad so very proud.

Good luck youth hunters!!! Seems this weekend is lining up nicely! The weather and the deer look to be cooperating very well!

I’ll be in and out of the shop all weekend. I also have a youth hunter this year! We’ll see how the 6 year old takes to hunting (and if his attention span will last 😂) Just make sure I’m around before stopping by, we also entered him in the auto glass big deer contest in Sedalia. So we will be having to run up there as well.
