Tomorrow is supposed to be a beautiful day! We are closed to the public but if you are interested in walking some of our much deserving dogs please stop by between 12-3! Just come inside the side door and holler for us! We have quite a few long term residents that don’t get out much and really deserve a break and exercise!❤️❤️

🩷 Cedar update 🩷 Cedar has gained 10lbs in her 2 weeks with us. Her mouth infection is now gone and she is on her way to being a big, lovable, playful girl. She knows sit, lay and shake and just wants all the attention and food she can get. 4yr old female GSD mix

🩷 Cedar🩷 Cedar came into the shelter last week in terrible condition. Luckily a very kind, loving lady contacted Jenna and we were able to scoop her up and get her on the long road to recovery where she will learn what it's like to be loved, fed and cared for properly. She is so very sweet and trusting for a dog who has obviously had a hard life. Check the comment section to see a before and after of just 1 week of being fed, loved and vetted! We believe she is a Shepard mix around 4/5 yrs old. -Misty

Adoption policies:

Animals will not be adopted to persons who have had repeated contact with Alcona County Sheriff Department (animal control) or court because of neglect or abuse issues or domestic violence history; nor to persons who have not completed previous adoption contracts with AHS or who have surrendered an animal to AHS or another shelter.
