Hello all- I’m considering opening up a day for new customers with specifically doodles. I’m seeing a huge need for groomers for doodles, in specific.

I’m considering doing this in the next couple months after the kiddos go back to school. There will be rules (pet quality grooms only, no excessive matting and or brushing- I’ll shave them if they are matted, no show or last minute cancellations are not allowed, etc.) and separate pricing from what I charge my existing doodle customers with this as well.

I’m just putting a feeler out there to see who might be interested in coming here or would need my services if I would decide to do this! Just comment here for now, if you would! I’m starting a list and thinking this through before I decide to make a commitment to this! I just want to help since there seems to be such a huge need. But it’s going to have to be worth the wear and tear on my body and the extra time if I’m being truly transparent.

Hey all! I’ve got some time TODAY and TOMORROW for some bath and nail trim (with blow dry) pups! Looking more for short or shorter hair breeds. This is the time of year that dogs are shedding out excessive winter coat and a lot of dogs who have been coming just seem extra dirty and stinky! I don’t usually get time like this in my schedule so give me a call asap!!! I can even do deep conditioning/de-shedding treatments!

***LINCOLN FRIENDS*** Black Boxer found running on 5th St- 500 block! Female, has pink collar, looks like she is still in tact, friendly and knows the command to sit. The people who found her went to Animal Control and she is NOT chipped. They are keeping her until her owner is found.

Hey all, I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving!

I don’t know if you’ve heard or not but I wanted to take a minute and address this respiratory illness that is going around effecting dogs. I know very little about it but the advice I’m getting is to make sure your dog is up to date on their vaccines and don’t take them to overcrowded areas with other dogs. Now, especially during the holidays, it can get very busy at my shop. It is MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER that if your dog is displaying any signs of sickness, to absolutely not bring them to get groomed! If you bring your dog and I suspect them to be sick, I will call you and have you come and get them immediately. I am going to keep things as clean and sanitized as I can, as always, but this is an effort that will have to be made by all to keep all our dogs as safe and healthy as possible!

****OWNER FOUND****

***Update: he was given 3 flea baths, a conditioning treatment and a warm drier and a couple towels to curl up and take a nap on. He has been dropped off at Timbercrest Veterinary Services. He is older, still in tact, a little bit of a bum eye, overall good health despite all the fleas and he is very, very friendly and sweet. We started calling him “Jefferson”. Keep sharing and help us find where he belongs! There is a chance he might end up at Animal Control so if there could possibly be a potential adopter for him, keep that in mind!!

Just picked up this stinky old beagle on the north side of Lincoln on Old Rt 66! I’ve got him at my shop here for now and going to give him a much needed bath. PLEASE HELP ME SHARE AND FIND HIS OWNERS ASAP!!!

So, there was a lot about today that just didn’t go the way I wanted. I just started kind of saying all day, “This is just a bad day.”

Then, I found a whole pine cone stuck in Jake’s fur and it made me giggle. And then I started thinking about how Jake was Theresa’s favorite dog to groom. She’d ask if I needed anything before she put those same AirPods in and then she’d put those in, turn on some music and get to work on the big guy. She loved him. I started thinking about how things could be worse… I mean, is it REALLY a bad day? Really???

So, Jake and I counted our blessings instead. He’s had the recent loss of his sister Koda so we leaned on each other today. ❤️ I put in those AirPods and we got to work and while listening to some good music I pulled myself out of my “bad day” mindset and Jake looked clean and beautiful and pine cone free 😃 when we were done.

Dog grooming is hard but it’s also my therapy.

And, I love Jake too.

Sophie’s Mom wanted her left a little fluffy since it’s getting cooler out but still wanted a good trim up. I left her ears fluffy, looking a little more like “puppy ears” (because who wants cold ears???) but I’d say we still accomplished “the Schnauzer look”… she wears it well!! What a cutie pie!!!! 🥰

The first time Charlie came, his mom had given him drugs to calm him. She felt he needed them.

So, there has only been ONE TIME in all my years of grooming that I actually groomed a dog who NEEDED to be drugged to get through it and, it turned out, that dog actually needed to be groomed at at veterinarian office a couple times of year and call it good. There ARE cases like that where a groomer just isn’t equipped to handle a severe case like that. Most other cases, I am a FIRM believer that drugging a dog actually makes it worse. Let’s make you feel VERY drunk and then take you to do something that TERRIFIES you! And, when we are drunk, we KNOW we are drunk or we KNOW we are about to get a dose of whatever medicine to make us feel that way. But, a dog does not. A dog just knows they feel weird and out of control and they don’t like it, they are scared, they are not with their mom or dad and it’s not a good situation. (In most cases.)

SO, Charlie no longer gets drugs to be groomed!! Yes, he’s nervous. Yes, he has his opinions about when he’s ready to go out that door and go home, and he is done with my crap and he means it. But, YES, he is a VERY, VERY good boy to be groomed and although he and I are still learning a lot about each other, I love gaining his trust just a little more every time he comes even though he begs his mom not to leave him.

Turns out, he is just fine. ❤️

Oliver missed his last appointment and he is usually kept pretty short so he was way overdue for a good cut! His mom tried to give him a trim up and she said “Just wait until you see him!” I told her that I actually love it when y’all aren’t afraid to at least TRY to give them a haircut or trim…. It’s not as easy as it looks!! It’s good job security for me!! 😂

Esther Sparks asked, “How are you going to clean all that hair up?!?!” Well.... here you go! This shop can get VERY dirty and VERY hairy and then it can get VERY clean after some good, hard work! It’s that time of year when “cold weather dogs” start blowing their winter coats. It can get pretty intense getting all that hair out and it makes a HUGE mess!! It’s so satisfying getting it all cleaned up after a hard day’s work. ❤️🐾
