Day 2!
Going from Saturday to Sunday, our biggest goal was to improve in some way, shape, or form! Whether that be making it one obstacle further, or even just having better timing in terms of placement of dog/handler/livestock, and we definitely improved on all of it! There are for sure some things that we’ll be working on in practice the next couple weeks, but overall we had a really great run! Day 2 brought us double the points at 180 in the 7 minutes, with only 1 obstacle left! (We were so close!)
Overall, I’m thoroughly impressed with how Finch handled everything that was thrown at him, and held his ground with the cattle. We can’t wait to see what the next trials have in store!
NCTA Fall Trial Day 1…Finch’s FIRST ever trial!
Day 1 was full of new learning experiences, and I was very impressed with Finch’s performance! We scored 90 points in the 7-minute time allotment, which was great! Finch has never gotten the opportunity to work in an environment like this, but he handled it like a champ. Stay tuned for day 2!
Finch Working Cattle
Our boy, Finch, working cattle for one of my good friends! Breauna had been putting a bit of training on him for me since she has consistent access to livestock, and Finch is doing fantastic! We still have some kinks to work out before the trial season, but we’re very happy with how he looks so far.
Basic training with Sparrow
A little video showing what we’ve been working on with Ms. Sparrow! Our current goals are

•overall calmness while learning to settle while life moves on around her
(P.S. I apologize for the shaky video! I took this on a whim during our little training session!)
