CHSA Finals was a blast!!

Raegan Jeffrey and Hufflepuff took Reserve Champion in the Pleasure Pony Classic, 3rd in the Open Pleasure Classic, 5th in the Short Stirrup Equitation, and WON the Short Stirrup Hunters 🥇🥈🥉

Georgia Vernon and Glynhafen Peter Pan took 4th in the Pleasure Pony Classic, and 7th in the Pre-Children's Hunters 🏅

Macy Andreozzi and Orlando Noyers took 9th in the Junior Exhibitor Pleasure and 6th in the Open Pleasure Classic 🏅

Lilllian Caruso and Good Golly Miss Molly has two super flats in the walk trot 🏅

Bella Anderson and Na'cho Style also had a great walk trot flat 🏅

Talia DiCostanzo and History Made took 10th in the Open Pleasure Classic 🏅

Macy, Georgia, and Raegan also had great placing in the Horsemanship Test: 2nd, 5th, and 6th!

Came back two years later and couldn't of gone any better! All the girls loved Fairfield, can not wait for next year!

Kayla Pacheco and History Made had great rounds in the CT Training Hunters, pulling a 3rd in the flat. This pair then went on to get 4th and 7th, out of a very large Pre-Children's Equitation Division. This team ended on a high note taking the win in the CHJA 2' Hunter Classic with scores of 84 and 79 🥇🥉🏆

Georgia Vernon and Glynhafan Peter Pan did some 2'6" classes, taking a 1st, 3rd, and 5th in the Children's Large Hunter Pony. This pair also took a 2nd in one of the over fences of the Pre-Children's Equitation 🥇🥈🥉

Macy Andreozzi and Orlando Noyers were flat kings (and queen!) They took the blue in the NEHC Hunter Pleasure 🥇

Raegan Jeffrey and Hufflepuff started off their week as Champion in the Short Stirrup Equitation and got 2nd, 4th, 4th in the Hunters. They then went on to get double 3rds in the CHJA 18" Hunter Classic and the CHJA Short Stirrup Medal Final 🥇🥈🥉🏆

Ava Lavoie and History Made took two 3rds out of 40 Children's Equitation riders, and had a great round in the CHJA Children's Medal Final during a torrential down pour 🥉

Sadly our 2' girls did not get to compete in their Medal Final because of this weather, but they are ready to come back next year and secure their ribbons!!

Huge thank you to Alicia Cugini for amazing coaching, pep talks, and making everyone smile! You have a gift and we couldn't do this without you!

Another huge thank you to Caitlin Pirri for the daily stud changes and making sure all the horses and ponies were looking their best throughout the week!

Shae McGarrahan and Here Comes the Sun had an amazing and super fun week at Pony Finals! This venue was a first for us, and it was absolutely amazing! Can't wait to come back here again!!

Darla is a sweet pony looking for a new home and a little kid to love! Darla would be best suited for someone looking to do trails and just have fun! She just spent her summer at a camp doing cross country, swimming, and enjoying life in a big paddock. This pony does not thrive in a show program and does not want to be a fancy show pony. We love day trips up to Fieldstone Show Park!

Georgia Vernon and Glynhafen Peter Pan had a successful move up to the 2'6"! This pair took 6th in a competitive class of the combined Child/Adult Equitation 🏅

Shae McGarrahan and Here Comes the Sun had their last outing before Pony Finals! They took 4th in the USHJA 2'9" over fences and 2nd in the flat as the only pony and against professionals 🥈

It was a hot day but the girls were troopers ang we banged out some last needed points at the Pines!

Lillian Caruso ang Good Golly Miss Molly took a 3rd, two 4ths, two 5ths, and a 6th in the Walk Trot divisions! This team is now QUALIFIED for CHSA 🥉🏅

Raegen Jeffrey and Hufflepuff took double Champion in the Children's Pleasure Pony and Short Stirrup Hunters 🥇

Shae McGarrahan and Serrano made a move up to the Juniors, taking the win in the CHJA (QUALIFIED!) This team also took four 2nds, a 3rd, and a 4th in the Children's Hunters 🥇🥈🥉🏅

Georgia Vernon piloted Serrano and this pair got straight thirds in the Pre-Children's for only having one ride under their belt 🥉

Shae McGarrahan brought Cheryl Amaral Aplines Supernatural for a little field trip and Castiel acted like he was a seasoned pro! We are in love with this giant!

Macy Andreozzi and Orlando Noyers tagged along for their first multi day show and had great rides in the warm up ring. She also stuck around all weekend to help, support, and watch all her barn mates 🏅

There is a reason this show is our favorite!! The girls did not disappoint this weekend at the 5/A Baker Show!

Georgia Vernon and Glynhafen Peter Pan took a 1st and 2nd in the Pre-Children's Equitation, 1st, 6th, and 7th in the Hunters. Placed 4th in both CHSA and CHJA Medals. Took Reserve Champion in the Children's Pleasure Pony and a 7th place finish in the Hunter Pleasure Classic. This team then went onto win the 2'0" Derby 🥇🥈
Peter also took Caitlin Pirri around her first adult classes, taking a good piece in the Equitation Flat, and winning an over fences 🥇
Peter then played divison pony with Shae McGarrahan getting 3rd in the USEF Pony Final Medal 🥉
This pony stepped up this weekend, and we are beyond proud of him, thank you Cheryl Amaral for such an amazing animal!

Shae McGarrahan and Serrano didn't take long to get back to their winning ways. They had great rounds in the Habitat for Humanity 2'0", took Champion in the Low Training Hunters 2'3", got 4th in the 2'0" Derby and won the Hunter Pleasure Classic 🥇

Caitlin Pirri and Khalina of Hearts were speed demons taking Champion in the .80 Jumpers and Reserve Champion in the Low Training Jumpers. They also got 4th in the .85 Classic, and 6th in Lina's first every Derby out of 12 🥇🥈

Kayla Pacheco brought History Made to his first show in 2 years, this pair had great rounds in the Pre-Children's divisions, won the CHJA Medal, and took 8th in the Hunter Pleasure Classic and 10th in the 2'0" Derby 🥇

Shae McGarrahan and Here Comes the Sun took two 2nds, a 3rd and 4th in the Habitat for Humanity 2'6", took 3rd in the USHJA Pony Derby, and were Reserve Champion in the Pony Hunters QUALIFYING FOR PONY FINALS🥈🥉

9 Facts About Perfectionism: A mindset that must be unlearned or will ultimately bring your riding down 🧠

1. Every rider makes mistakes, even the best of the best.
It’s an unavoidable, universal experience and all a part of the sport.

2. Mistakes are learning opportunities.
You can grow from them and become better because of them.

3. Hyper-focusing on mistakes helps them happen.
They both become a self-fulfilling prophecy and take your focus away from your ride.

4. Mistakes mean you’re on the right track.
You can’t improve, learn, overcome challenges, and level up without them.

5. It’s not what happened but how you move forward from it that matters the most.
Moving on from the mistake matters more than the mistake itself.

6. Mistakes are temporary.
Work to fix and put them in the past instead of dwelling and allowing them to stick around.

7. Mistakes don’t define you.
You may have had a bad ride, but that doesn’t mean you’re a bad rider.

8. Social media only shows highlights.
Everyone is struggling whether they post about it or not.

9. Perfect doesn’t exist.
It’s impossible to meet unattainable expectations.

A perfectionist mindset and a lack of an ability to accept mistakes will do much more harm than good for an athlete’s mental performance. Mistakes are a normal part of sport and life. Everyone makes mistakes no matter how talented of an athlete they may be. Since perfect doesn’t exist, holding yourself to an unrealistic standard will only set you up for disappointment every ride. Instead, give yourself permission to make mistakes, using them to your advantage by viewing them as valuable feedback and learning opportunities. Refer to this post whenever you begin to feel hard on yourself, and remember that you are not alone! 🏇🏽💭✨
