ts and succeeds thanks to more than 58,000 members from every corner of Nebraska. As agriculture is a key to Nebraska’s economic engine and responsible for one in four jobs in Nebraska, Nebraska Farm Bureau’s efforts offer significant payoff to all Nebraskans, both rural and urban. We work to assure access to healthy and nutritious food, increase agricultural exports, pave the way for renewable energy, solve our state’s water challenges, improve our highway system and enhance public education. In addition, Nebraska Farm Bureau members benefit from a wide variety of discounted products and services. Our members are a primary force behind the preservation of family-owned and operated farms and ranches. Our network of local, state and national offices helps families deal with the increasing complexity of agriculture, animal care practices, tax concerns and many other issues. We provide education and support to the next generation of farmers and ranchers who will keep family-owned farming and ranching operations alive and thriving in Nebraska. While much of our work is behind the scenes, our brand is often most visible as Farm Bureau insurance, one of the most respected insurance programs in Nebraska. This affiliated organization, Farm Bureau Financial Services, offers highly competitive rates to Farm Bureau members while simplifying the insurance process. We share a name and the mission to serve the entire state, rural and urban residents alike. The Nebraska Farm Bureau page is intended to provide a place for fans to engage and discuss. If you’re ever air-flighted during a medical emergency, it’s important to know your insurance may not cover the total cost of emergency treatment and transport. And those costs can be substantial. As an AirMedCare Network member, you will have no out-of-pocket expenses related to your flight if you are flown by any AirMedCare Network participating provider.

Nebraska Farm Bureau has long advocated for responsibly growing the state’s livestock industry. Doing so strengthens our economy by creating jobs and bolstering the property tax base that pays for things such as county roads, infrastructure, and schools. NEFB testified in support of LB 663 (Storer), a bill which aims to establish a clear and objective process for reviewing conditional use permits and special exemption applications. NEFB believes this bill considers all perspectives, including the applicant, proponents, opponents, and the county, while not lessening local control. In this week’s video, Sen. Storer explains her bill and hear from producers who share how the bill could affect their operations and counties.

As I reflect upon a trip around the state visiting with members, a common issue on the minds of farmers and ranchers from Grand Island to Ogallala and in between is trade. Here in Nebraska, trade isn’t just an economic activity; it’s the lifeblood of our rural communities. It’s the difference between keeping the lights on in our operations or facing tough financial choices.

Nebraska Farm Bureau, in collaboration with Nebraska Cattlemen, is advocating for property tax relief through LB 81. This legislation seeks to rectify the issue of missing income tax credits resulting from last year’s special session, during which the Legislature altered existing rules. During a recent presentation to the Revenue Committee, Merlyn Nielsen from Seward County expressed robust support for LB 81 and highlighted the unintended consequences stemming from prior legislative amendments affecting property tax credits. 📊 https://www.nefb.org/02/28/2025/nebraska-farm-bureau-advocates-for-fix-to-miss-year-of-property-tax-relief/
