April Showers bring... blooming litters of kittens! Springtime through early Autumn mark the time of year known as "kitten season" where an influx of kittens are born due to higher breeding rates when the weather is warm.

Cats can breed with very little time in between litters, and gestation lasts just about 2 months. When you account that most litters include 3-6 kittens, the numbers can add up VERY quickly!

While endless kittens sounds great, many of these cats are found outside and in poor health. It is important for any growing pet to have medical care and guidance, but kittens can be especially vulnerable to parasites, upper respiratory infections and feline specific viruses.

If you are bringing a new feline friend home this spring, be sure to have them examined by a veterinarian as an initial health screening. Our staff at Lincolnshire Animal Hospital is happy to help your new kitten get the best start to life!

We're wishing Loki a peaceful recovery at home after his procedure today! This adorable little guy gave our staff lots of joy and we gave him lots of love in return of course!

All of our surgical patients are carefully monitored before, during and after their procedures by our fantastic surgical team, plus we support pet owners with follow-up calls and/or appointments as needed post-op to ensure each animal's wellbeing.

We always do our best at Lincolnshire Animal Hospital to make the experience as smooth as possible for every pet and pet owner. We're hoping Loki and his family rest easy after his big day, but we're always a phone call away if you have questions or concerns about your pet!
