I have a saddle I’m really needing to sell. It a 13.5” Wide Special with a 40* bar. The regular Wide Special come in a 45* bar angle which is the original fit.
We have found some horses that needed it to be a little wider so we have also built some with a 43* bar.
Now we are finding some are really wide so this saddle has a 40* bar.
The seat is Black Suede in a Gator Print - Copper Conchos w/Copper Dots on cantle - Brown Leather.

Just a reminder that this clinic is coming up. This is our only Texas Clinic. Don’t think y’all want to miss it. Sky Ranch is a beautiful place and the ground is always good. It’s a perfect opportunity to learn good skills in the saddle - learn how to think better and learn how to take better care of your horses.

This has been an annual clinic for a number of years now. Rope Meyers and the beautiful Sky Ranch are the sponsors.
Sky has a big nice covered arena with great ground - stalls and RV Hook Ups. They also furnish lunches both days which is always nice.
The barrel race has gotten so technical that we are counting strides. So, we don’t hand you a whip or put on the spurs in order to fix your problem. We are teaching that the timer likes straight lines because it does - we are teaching that you win barrel races turning - because you do.
Come and spend a great weekend at a great facility and learn the “Art of Barrel Racing.”
We taught Stevi Hillman when she was 10 years old.
We taught Tiana Schuster when she was 16. We have many others that we could mention.
The basics will always be the basics. They are hard to relearn when they are first learned wrong.

A lot of people think that it’s not time for this to happen - but Thank You Jesus that nobody knows the date except God - Himself. What if we are closer than you think. Are you using your time wisely?

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Our time here on earth is an infinitely precious commodity. Each and every day, we get so many hours and minutes deposited to our accounts. We can hold tight to those minutes, using them wisely, or we can neglect them with useless pursuits.

But soon the day will come—like it or not—when we are down to our final minute. We need to use our time well.

In the Psalms, David wrote about how fleeting life can be:

“Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be.
Remind me that my days are numbered—
how fleeting my life is.
5 You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand.
My entire lifetime is just a moment to you;
at best, each of us is but a breath.”
—Psalm 39:4-5 (NLT)

That concept of “numbered days” isn’t just an Old Testament idea. Paul wrote something very similar in his New Testament letter to the Ephesians:

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.—Ephesians 5:15-17 (NLT)

He adds other thoughts to this reality in the Book of Romans:

This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. 13 Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy. 14 Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.—Romans 13:11-14 (NLT)

“Time is running out,” Paul writes. “The night is almost gone.”

Our days are numbered and the days are evil. It’s late. We are to make the most of every opportunity because the day of our salvation is coming soon.

These Bible passages should remind us, every day, of the fact that Jesus Christ is coming back again! The signs of the times visible in our culture echo this idea. We are nearing the end. We could be hurtled into eternity in the blink of an eye.

A Heartbeat Away

It could happen through the Rapture or it can happen at death. That is why we always need to be prepared and ready to meet the Lord at all times. We don’t know when the end of our lives will come.

It might happen at the end of THE world.

Or it might happen at the end of OUR world.

All of us, right now, are a heartbeat away from eternity. It could arrive in the twinkling of an eye. Are we making our final minutes count? God has given us a precious gift, so make every day of your life mean something.

Serve other people.
Love your family.
Spend time with your friends and community.
Do good works.
Contribute to society.
Gather regularly with believers.
Give generously to your church.
Enjoy the world God has created for us.
Tell others about Jesus.
Worship God! (Yes, you’ll worship Him for eternity but your opportunities to worship Him during this life are limited.)
Don’t waste the opportunities you’ve been given on earth. Instead, take advantage of them! Keep one foot in heaven and keep another foot on earth, because Jesus is coming soon.

This could be your moment with the King of King and the Lord of Lords - by all means - ask again!

I know, I know, you’ve already asked Him a million times, I see those eyes rolling.
But today, ask Him a million and one.
Yes.
Ask Him AGAIN.
Ask Him again for that child to come home.
That marriage to be healed.
That mountain to move.
Ask Him again for that friendship to mend.
That work to begin.
That end-of-tunnel light to appear.
Ask Him again for the one who needs rescue, the one who needs healing, the one who needs new direction, new guidance, new focus.
Yes.
Even if that ‘one’ is you.
Ask Him again for what you need.
For what you want.
For joy in the sorrow.
Help in the struggle.
A sip of living-water in the heat of your schedule...and the time to just sit at the well, amen?
Ask Him again.
Ask Him again to provide springs in your land; and while you’re at it, give thanks for that land, no matter how dry it is now, knowing He’s given it to you with good purpose.
Yes.
Ask Him again.
Ask Him again to dig up the soil and plant the seeds.
Ask Him again to stir up and settle, make and remake, pour out His peace that passes all understanding, because frankly; you could use a hefty dose about now.
Yes.
And Amen.
Ask Him again for all that seems lost and all that seems nowhere even near the city of possible...and ask Him believing He can.
Yes.
Ask Him again.
Not because you don’t think He heard you the first million times, but because you are realizing the longer you {truly} live, that persistence is a pretty strong faith-builder; not to mention how close it keeps you to Him for whom all things are possible and nothing is too hard, and because faith-based strength to persevere and closeness with your Creator is what you REALLY need.
Whew. Yes. Absolutely.
Ask Him again.
With fresh eyes and a renewed spirit and a passionate resolve that He can, and if it’s His Will...He will.
And if it’s not, you will keep on asking.
You will keep on seeking.
You will keep on believing.
Because persistent faith is where it’s at.
It fastens it’s gaze on hope.
The hope that is always three steps {Father, Son, Holy Spirit} ahead, providing the perfect focal point.
Yes.
And it never disappoints.
Amen.
So today; bow low, look up, and ask Him AGAIN. ❤️

Well - you know our motto - Double J and myself - "Onward and Upward!"
We are working on improving the tree of the Wide Special. It is the tree that fits more of the old style Quarter Horse type backs.
The bloodlines that are popular in the barrel racing industry are combining the "running horse" front end and the Quarter Horse hip. It is making us at Double J work hard to keep up.
These same bloodlines are also the ones that talk about any discomfort but especially the saddle fit. OMGOODNESS they talk loud and clear when they are uncomfortable under their saddle.
Back in the day - we had one saddle and it fit everything - or at least we thought it did. LOL
Many barrel racers are having to get educated on saddle fit. Oh my, has it come to that. Oh yes it has and in a big way.
If you are not educated you better get ahead of the learning curve because it is headed your way.

This is a 14” Wide Special. It fits that old style Quarter Horse back. That’s an elk seat - it doesn’t wear out. This is a saddle built for a competitor - 1/2” taller front - deep leg cuts - and a 4” comfort cantle.
This will be a beautiful saddle for a long time.
