⭐️ UPDATE: ADOPTED!

❤️ Word travelled fast about REINA and suddenly we receive a surge of applications for her! She had a very promising meet and greet today…and she is adoption pending final steps! Thank you to everyone who expressed interest…we will keep your apps on file for the next one in need!

⭐️ OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY IS FINDING REINA HER FOREVER HOME!

Please share!

REINA is stunning chi/doxy mix, about 3-4 years old and weighs 12.5 lbs.

She is potty trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash!

We realize that when a dog is returned to rescue, there's often a stigma attached. But adoption is not a "one size fits all" process...truly, some dogs fit perfectly into some homes and not at all in others. This is very much the case for REINA. Just because her first adoption was not a success, does NOT mean there is anything wrong with her! It simply was not the best fit for her needs. For example, she does not have separation anxiety in her foster home...but she did in her adoptive home.

REINA has a VERY rough life so far. She came from a home where she lived outside on a porch, sharing a cage with other dogs. Her owner died, and squatters (who are also drug addicts) took over the home as well as all the pets. She had been “accidentally” burned with a welding torch and the scar remains both physically and probably emotionally, too.

It makes sense that she latches on so quickly to people she feels she can trust. It makes sense that when her people are gone, she can get a little restless. A home filled with unfamiliar faces would make her nervous...people have not been kind to her, and when you live with people on drugs...you never know what you're gonna get.

In her foster home, she cuddles with the other dogs and even with the cats, too. She loves her foster family...including the toddler in the home! BUT to keep things as uncomplicated as possible, we are seeking a home for REINA where she can be the center of attention and learn that stability does in fact exist, and she doesn't have to worry from day to day what will happen to her.

REINA is desperate to be someone’s pride and joy and forever companion. She needs someone who will understand that rehabbing from such a tumultuous life will not happen overnight...but it will happen with time, patience and security.

Spayed/Vaccinated.
