When Eva arrived at the care of Paws Humane, their rescue team quickly found Eva had an old fracture in her elbow and was unable to use her affected leg. To relieve her pain she required amputation. The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation was able to provide a medical grant for Eva’s medical care and we are so happy to see she’s healed up well and continues to be her happy and loving self. 💛

Live Music and Bark in the Park: Dog-Friendly Concert Extravaganza! 🐾🎶
Get ready for some good old country music from Nashville Electric Company.

Who let the dogs out? We did! Join us on Wednesday, July 3rd, for our first-ever dog-friendly concert at Caboose Park! (Remember, all dogs must be on leashes.)

Here's the scoop:
🐶 Doggie Photo Booth - 6pm, $1 donation. Proceeds benefit Canines 4 Comfort.
🐾 Doggie Patriotic Costume Contest & Parade - 6:30pm. Check-in at the Park District table at 6:15pm. Judged by our esteemed Lindenhurst and Lake Villa Mayors!
🎪 Doggie Vendors open at 6pm, featuring:

Who turns down a chilled drink on a hot day? Not our pups! Treat your pup to a Pup-A-Rita or a Puppy Mock-Tail this week! Our blend of cucumber, yogurt and coconut milk will hydrate and refresh! Or (for the young one's 😉 ) try our Puppy Mock-tail which is a frozen broth treat with a dash of whipped cream on top! These will be a great way to boost their vitamin levels and keep hydration up during these hot summer days! Supplies are limited so don't miss out!

There *is* some truth to the belief that dogs are a good judge of character. Research has shown through their keen sense of smell and skilled read on human body language and cues, dogs will sometimes use that information to form an opinion of a person. A dog's sense of smell is 1000 times stronger than humans. These heightened senses allow dogs to smell the pheromones that evoke the human mood which also helps dogs pick up good and bad behaviors of a human.

Meet the staff Monday! This is Evelyn, our Camp Ranger. She works with the Manager and helps keep our day to day moving smoothly. There is a passion for working with animals and this shows in her hard work and advocacy for our dogs. Evelyn would like to continue her work in the animal care industry, whatever she does she is sure to succeed at. When you love what you do it is easy to see. At Camp we love her and think she's pretty paw-some!
