She also knows the person writing her post nicknames Last Hope- "the Half Way House for Homeless Beagles".
Therefore, ROSIE would like to introduce herself:
"I am one of the countless, abandoned Kentucky Beagles who fill the poor, rural shelters there...Either I was considered a poor hunting hound, or inadequate puppy producer.
I stood little to no chance of finding a loving, responsible home in Kentucky before my limited time in the shelter ended (poorly).
Last Hope realizes there are many local families here on Long Island & in the metropolitan area that would welcome a fine family dog Beagle.
I am a redhead, about 5 yrs old, weigh. 27 lbs with mucho canine charisma. Meet me at the Last Hope Dog Adoption Center in Wantagh. "

FOUND 11/4/23, Lindenhurst, case #23-476, male, case #23-477, female contact Babylon Animal Shelter to identify/claim, 631-643-9270. If you are interested in adopting, you can come to the shelter, meet the dog, and then put in an adoption application. Up to 5 applications will be taken. Our strays are held 5 days by law and then they will get an exam, Heartworm test, microchip, and spay/neuter, and other medical procedures. Only once that is complete can they be picked up for adoption. You can expect it to take 1-3 weeks before a dog is ready for adoption.

☆Please Don't Overlook BROOKE☆
Last Hope changed the name of this sweet but timid 8 month old pup before she arrived on a Georgia rescue transport with the name BRONTOSAURUS.
We felt BROOKE was a far more appropriate name for such demure dog.
She is shy in the kennel & on walks but really perks up when she sees another dog.
BROOKE plays well with our same age TESSA. (Don't tell BROOKE but TESSA is scheduled to Go Home Today.)
BROOKE should come out of her shell more quickly in a home where her peeps are patient.
Older kids are better because they are less apt to spook BROOKE by moving too quickly. And we believe BROOKE will blossom faster in a home where she has the company & comfort of another dog.

What a Doll!
She is a 4 yr old blue merle Australian Shepherd/ Cattle Dog mix.
She came to Last Hope from Town of Brookhaven Shelter yesterday.
Meredith is always smiling. She knows Sit, Paw and walks nicely on a leash.
She appears to be a mix of at least 2 intelligent breeds.
It would be a smart move to come introduce yourself to MEREDITH if you are looking for a pet with lots of pup potential.

to Meet HUSTLE.☆
He's a 2 year old Bulldog mix who looks like a stubby-legged Dogue de Bordeaux.
HUSTLE comes to us from Town of Brookhaven Shelter, as part of a hoarding case.
He weighs 39 lbs, and is more Basset/Beagle size than Frenchie size. You will love this comical-looking fellow.
