We love Noble K-9 Dog Training! Things I have been able to do with my dogs after one on one, day training, and group classes with Katie/Sam: have them coexist happily with each other, be off leash and recall from squirrels, bunnies and deer, go to dog friendly restaurants, walk reliably in a heel through all different kinds of crowds and distractions. I've learned so much about dogs in general, and my dogs specifically. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

Nothing like a dog you can take reliably to movie in the park and not worry about all the stimulus around him.

This goes for grooming also. We love what we do, and we do it well. We know we're not the cheapest, or the easiest to get an appointment with. And we're ok with that.

Radar of the Noble K-9 Dog Training pack got his first bath today! He was an excellent little guy. Exposure to things like grooming at a young age is so beneficial to their confidence as they grow up. Frequent appointments not only help them see that a bath is fun but it'll also cut down on shedding. See you in 4 weeks Radar! 🐾

NEWSLETTER TYPE UPDATE POST: (One of those things with lots of words/good information)

Helllooooooo friends and clients! It's been awhile since we've posted a long rambling update, so we thought the start of summer would be a good time to do that!

BIGGEST NEWS: We are able to accommodate new clients! Right now we can accept dogs that are on the smallish side, up to about 35 lbs, for baths and haircuts. We do have a few openings as early as next week. If you could text us at 224-643-7792, let us know what kind of dog you have and what days might work for you, we'll get back to you ASAP. Which leads to pricing and the one million questions we will ask.

PRICING STUFF: Pricing always depends. It's actually one of the most challenging aspects in the grooming industry. When we set a price we include our overhead, and we have to charge for product and time. We have seen the products we use go up around 60% in the last 2 years. We are doing our best to keep pricing reasonable, but price increases are inevitable.

The absolute biggest cost is the experience and skill of our groomers. That's where the breed of dog you have, the grooming schedule you've been keeping, the type of coat, the coat condition, the haircut you're looking for, your dog's age, size, weight, and any medical/behavioral conditions come into play.

When you do call for an appointment, it might seem that we ask A LOT of questions! That's because we want to give you the best answer possible about the potential time it takes to groom your dog, and how much it can cost. It helps to be as honest as possible. If your dog bites, nips, gets mouthy, tell us. If they absolutely hate having their nails done, let us know. Do they try to leave town when it's time to scissor their face? It's better to know that in advance.

Why are we unable to accept new clients with big dogs? Thats an easy one. Space. We have so many large doodles, Newfies, Bernese Mountain dogs, Huskies, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, etc., that we simply don't have the real estate to accommodate them. We have more small kennels than large and our appointment books are maxed out for bigger dogs.

OUR EMPLOYEES - we have 3. Each of them can do ALL the things, but they do all have some specialties.

Sam is great with senior dogs, dogs with medical issues, dogs with behavioral issues, and dogs with training challenges. She has that special touch that comes from working as a veterinary groomer, and she enjoys working with those dogs. If you have a small dog that Sam can help you with, please let us know. She has some limited availability right now.

Regan is our resident Doodle, large dog, and puppy expert. While some groomers are turning away doodle breeds, this is something Regan excels at. And she has an infinite amount of patience with puppies - she's so good at conditioning them to the grooming process! While she is currently at her limit for large dogs, she has some openings for small doodles, puppies or other small haircut breeds 35 lbs or less.

Caitlyn comes to us from owning her own mobile grooming business. Her specialty is small dog haircuts. As she is currently part time with us, she does NOT have availability for new clients, but she's still awesome.

The groomers are typically working with dogs and are able to check messages once a day.

The goal is for participants to express their grief through a positive, carefully structured writing experience to help process your loss.

Our wonderful friend and client Kim adopted this dog about a month ago. Just 5 days after having him we learned he has a major life threatening medical issue (see gofundme for the details). The rescue did help with some initial diagnostics but have gone silent since and have said if she returned him they would just seek palliative care. This little dog wants to fight the good fight and drs are surprised he's not sicker. Kim and her family have fallen in love with him and want to do whatever they can to help him live a long happy life, he's only 5ish. I groomed him and he was just the best little guy, I'll post a video of him in the comments. The surgery is going to be expensive and any help big or small is appreciated. Please share this far and wide. Kim is like family, I hope we can rally for little Ziggy and get him this surgery asap. I will also setup a donation box at the shop this week so if you prefer to just give cash directly to Kim I will make sure it gets to her! ❤️ please help Ziggy if you can.

Friends and clients - Winter is upon us! No doubt you have all seen the forecast for this week. We will have below zero real temps and wind chill temps.
We do plan on working every day, however, if the weather is not suited to you or your dog coming in, we totally understand. We will not be charging cancellation fees for any appointments on the books Mon - Fri of this week.
