Adoptable Mounds is struggling. She is an amazing dog with so much love to give, but the shelter environment is taking its toll. Once full of tail wags and bright eyes, she’s now shutting down — quieter, more withdrawn, and clearly feeling the weight of shelter life. Mounds needs a home and family asap.

But let us tell you who Mounds really is—when she’s not weighted down by shelter life....

Mounds is a Husky mix with a heart of gold, especially when it comes to kids. In her foster home, she formed an instant, gentle bond with their toddler—always staying close, patiently watching over them, and soaking up every bit of affection. She’s the kind of dog that makes you say, “Wow… she just gets kids.”

Beyond her love for little humans, Mounds is a laid-back, easygoing girl. She enjoys sunbathing outside or curling up for a cozy nap inside. She’s housebroken, an easy walker, and total couch potato material. She’s still figuring out other dogs, but with the right match, she has potential to coexist peacefully.

And yes—she has that classic husky charm: full of expressive “awoos” and occasional mischief (like the time she escaped her crate just to be found adorably snuggled in bed with her foster family—honestly, who could blame her?).

Mounds is calm, affectionate, and incredibly intuitive. She just wants to be near her people—especially a family with kids to love on. Mounds deserves more than a kennel. She deserves a home where her true personality can shine. Come meet her today—we open at noon!
