PART 3
I finally got a start to finish groom done on video so that people can see why it takes so long. This groom was on a medium sized goldendoodle. 2hrs 24 minutes total time from start to finish. Which is quite a REALLY good start to finish time for a dog this size. There are several reasons for this:
*this dog has been coming to us for years and is an angel on the table (no moving around, biting, etc)
*I was working at a ridiculous fast pace (that hands can't do for 9 hours straight) because I had an appointment that day
*I was able to fully velocity dry her (dogs must be "bone dry" before cutting)
*she has no joint or health issues requiring frequent breaks or a slower pace
*grooming does not distress her, requiring breaks every so often to give her time to calm down
*she has no warts, moles, tumors, etc, that we have to be extra careful of when working, which also slows us down.
*she comes to us on a regular basis and is always well taken care of and lacking matting
*it was a simple summer cut, and she has hair that does not require a lot of scissoring to give her a smooth appearance
*we were fully staffed today, allowing me to focus solely on her
(You can add about 20 minutes minimum to your pup's grooming time for each thing above that does NOT describe your dog compared to this one)
We do quality, not speed folks. If you want fast and don't care what your dog looks like going out the door, we aren't for you. We care about the dogs' well-being, and we take pride in the quality of work that we do. Please remember that and try to be patient. Sometimes, it's not even YOUR dog that makes a delay. We do the dogs no one else will touch (read biters, easily stressed, etc...they need to be taken care of too). Some dogs come to us in a really bad way matting wise (it takes A LOT of time to get matting removed if we are going to do it without causing physical or emotional pain to your dog). So yes. Sometimes, it is simply the pup before yours that puts us behind. W

Started playing tunes 24/7 last night because there were distant fireworks. We are rocking out today, and will switch to classical tonight!
