Vigo: Learning to be Operant

Vigo has an incredible nose, and we’re going to take advantage of that! This is his second session and I am introducing the very beginning of the concept of an indication. Notice, he’s trying to solve the problem, and he’s offering behaviors to see if prior lessons will work. There is one behavior he never offered that most dogs would. What is it?

Murphy’s ready to go home!

You may recall, Murphy the Rottie was pretty reactive/ aggressive on the first day we met (scroll down my feed and see his behavior while back-tied). He’s going home today. He’s doing great and he’s a different dog! I’m going to miss him. Train on!!

This is a Wednesday session with the human-aggressive Cane Corso. His muzzle was taken off the session before this video. We also have his leash dragging. Nope! No treats were used in the making of this video😀

This is another session on the same day as the previous video. We took him off the wall and led him to the center of the room. He was still growling and very stiff but there were enough changes in his body language to warrant taking him off the wall. Again, he’s muzzled and I was ready for any changes from him.
