Meet the dog of the month for July! This is Jolene and she is a 11 month old bloodhound. The name Jolene was picked because since she is a bloodhound her parents wanted something twangy. Dolly Parton's song Jolene comes to my mind when I think of the name. Jolene is not picky and likes anything when it comes to treats. Naughtiest thing she has done is piddle in the house.

Meet June's dogs of the month! Hurley, Kemba Walker and Ray Ray. Since they are Siberian huskies they are named after UCONN basketball players and coach. Hurley is 3, Kemba Walker is 2 and Ray Ray is 1. Their favorite treats are nubs, bones and dog cookies. The naughtiest thing they have done was eat their mom's couch! Their nicknames are for Hurley they call him Lee Lee, Ray Ray's nickname is Cokie and Kemba Walker's nickname is bing b**g. Thank you for everyone that posted a picture. It's always fun to see everyone's dogs.

Late getting to this but let's meet the dog of the month for May! This is Stitch and he is an almost two year old French bulldog. Stitch is his sisters favorite Disney character and Stitch was a gift for her birthday. His favorite treat is pup cups and cheese. The naughtiest thing Stitch has done is that he likes to run out the front door and play chase. He has the time of his life meanwhile his mom is having a panic attack. Nicknames for Stitch are Stitchy boy and momma's baby.

Y'all I apologize for being so far behind on the dog of the month. Meet the dogs of the month for April! Atlas and Lily. Atlas is a 2 yr old Cane Corso and Lily is 4 month old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Their names have great significance and I have learned something new. Atlas is the God of strength and endurance. In Greek mythology, he is known as the Titan who carries the heavens upon his shoulders. Cane Corso are descended from Roman war dogs who are thought to come from the original Molossers, giant dogs originating from the ancient Greek state of Epirus.

Lilyanna Clover - just whimsical. Welsh legend says the fairies and elves of Wales used the Pembroke Welsh Corgi to pull fairy coaches, work fairy cattle, and serve as the steed for fairy warriors.
Never knew dogs liked broccoli but its Atlas's favorite treat along with cucumbers. Lily on the other hand does not care for the veggies but is just interested in food. The naughtiest thing Atlas has ever done was that he got out of the yard as a puppy with his then rottie/lab brother and decided to take themselves for a walk to the greenbelt to play. Luckily a family saw them and contacted the number on the collar. Lily loves to run through the sprinklers and since she is only four months mom believes there is more to come. Nicknames for Atlas are Big Boy and Bubbles and for Lily she just has the nickname puppy for now.

Sorry for being so delayed in getting the dog of the month posts up. Also I still have goodies to give to the January and February winners. So with that, meet the dog of the month for March! Pebbles! She is a two year old Great Dane. Her pattern looked like a bunch of black pebbles so that is how her mom came up with the name. Her favorite treat is smoked pig ears. The naughtiest thing she has ever done is not getting along with her Xoloitzcuintli siblings. I learned this new word today and had to google it. Don't ask me how to pronounce it though. Its a Mexican hairless dog. Thank you everyone for participating!
