Introducing Our Newest Rescue: A tiny goat
with a miraculous story of survival!

This past week, our rescue community came together to support a terribly neglected cow named Alice. Despite all the love and care provided, Alice’s condition was too severe, and she was peacefully euthanized. Our hearts are still so heavy, but we are committed to honoring her memory.

In Alice’s spirit, we decided to use the donations received for her care to lift up Sunrise Farms Sanctuary as well as rescue another animal in need. And that’s where our new goat friend comes in!

Meet our brave new friend! This tiny lil gal survived a harrowing ordeal—BURIED ALIVE under hay for nearly two days, followed by a snowstorm that covered her in nearly a foot of snow for another day! Her will to live is nothing short of incredible.

As you can see in the photo, she’s bright-eyed and stable, though she has lost her ability to walk. Three of her legs seem ok, but one remains questionable. Over the weekend, she experienced the joy of freedom in a new little cart that matches her beautiful eyes and she’s looking forward to a full veterinary evaluation ASAP.

We believe this is exactly what Alice would’ve wanted—to help another life in need. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission. Together, we can make a difference! 🙏💚🐐

Little Ms Lizzie Belle made it to Iowa Farm Sanctuary and here’s their report: She is definitely scared, but very sweet and social. We are very impressed with how well she moved around today, the main goal was just getting her up, but she decided she had things to do!

Monday afternoon after the snow quit I went out to the pasture to put a coat on the baby donkey that was born in September. The four of them were standing around in the snow eating what was left of a round bale of hay. I put the coat on her and I heard a faint little goat cry. There were no goats out there they were all in the barn. I start looking around and I see on the ground a patch of white fur about like what would fall off of my Great Pyrenees. I reached down and touched it and it moved. I quickly started digging around and it was Elizabeth one of the little goats. She must’ve gotten trapped under the hay before the snowstorm started. I got her dug out and She was flopping around gasping for air I took my coat off wrapped her up and got her in the house and in front of the wood stove. She started coming around but she couldn’t stand or walk. Day 2 she was very alert and started eating really well but still couldn’t stand. I called a few vets for advice and they don’t see goats and with the weather I couldn’t travel real far anyway. I talked with some goat people that I trust and sent videos and decided it’s probably neurological. I emailed Goats of Anarchy and she messaged me back and recommended that I get ahold of Iowa Farm Sanctuary. I had a donor who ordered a wheelchair/cart for her so she could get around but then Iowa called me back and committed to taking her. I decided that it would be the best thing for her. So Little Elizabeth or Miss Lizzie will be going to Iowa Farm Sanctuary tonight. They will get her the medical help that she needs. Even though I had a donor that ordered her a cart I don’t have the funds or the volunteers to help me with her or the other animals and I just took in the 3 miniature horses which require more treatment. Iowa Farm Sanctuary does and they will get her the best treatment ever! Please follow their page and donate if you’re able. Oh and The donor was able to cancel the cart/wheelchair before it shipped.

Kravanya Funeral home just picked up my Charlotte P. I should have her ashes back this afternoon. I’m going to bury them in the pasture under the pecan tree where she always laid and kept an eye on her goats. Me and Charla P best friends we’ll always be me and Charla P.

RIP my Dear sweet Charlotte, you were the best and sweetest dog and I’m going to miss you terribly. You loved your goats from the start when you were just a puppy. I have no idea what happened I just went out to feed their evening meal and she was laying in the barn door dead…no sign of any trauma or illness. She ate her breakfast this morning and I gave her a dog biscuit around 2 pm she was acting fine. She was going to be 9 in a couple of weeks I’m heartbroken

My Farrier said to try to get them out to the pasture as soon as I could because the more they move the better their ligaments and muscles will work. He did their feet last Thursday and their hoove wall has separated from their sole and they were bleeding in between. The farrier they had before was trimming too much off of the toe and none off of the heel which is part of the cause of their problems a bad farrier can ruin your horses feet. Everyday I’ve been working with them and they’ve been trusting me more and more so I decided today was the day to move them out to pasture to meet the others. Farrier will do their feet every 8 weeks until hopefully the wall connects back to the hoove.

🎄✨ A Heartfelt Thank You for the Success of Santa in the Shed! ✨🎄

We are truly humbled by the overwhelming success of our Santa in the Shed party at The Campground House this year.

To Our Sponsors:
We couldn’t make this happen without your generosity and support. Your contributions ensure that this event remains free for everyone who attends, and for that, we are deeply grateful. Thank you for believing in the magic of this tradition!

To Our Volunteers:
What can I say? You are the heart and soul of this event. Your hard work, dedication, and selflessness make everything possible year after year. From the bottom of our hearts—thank you.

To Our Guests:
We hope you created cherished Christmas memories with your family. Watching the joy and wonder on the children’s faces is priceless, and it’s a gift we treasure every year. Please mark your calendars for the second weekend of December next year—we’d love to see you again and make this a family tradition!

A Reminder:
Our drive-thru will remain open until January 1, so be sure to visit and soak up the holiday magic!

In Closing:
Let’s all remember that Santa lives in the hearts of everyone. Take a moment to bring magic into a deserving child’s Christmas—it’s a gift that rewards the giver just as much as the receiver.

Merry Christmas to all, and may your holidays be filled with love, joy, and the true spirit of the season!

With gratitude,
The Campground House Family
