The Merrymeeting Trail will be holding three more Community Conversations about the creation of a rail trail between Topsham and Gardiner. While the MTRA has been in communication since January to ensure equine use of this trail, hearing from each of you is vitally important to have your concerns heard and to make sure this is truly a multi-use trail. Please take a look at the schedule and make your plan to join the conversation!

•Richmond: Wednesday, October 16, 6:30pm at the Enterprise Grange

•Gardiner: Wednesday, October 23, 6:00pm at the Gardiner Public Library

•Topsham: Tuesday, October 29, 6:00pm at the Topsham Public Library

These Community Conversations are the next important step in the development of the Merrymeeting Trail. Professionally facilitated, they will be a place for community members to share their thoughts and hopes for the trail -- things like what types of uses should
be allowed, what surfaces should be considered, opportunities for access, and what aspects of design would help encourage people to get out and use the trail. Input during the meetings will be used to inform the community vision for the trail and its future design.

The Maine Trail Riders Association food booth will be at the Halee Lyn Cummings Memorial Race on June 28-30, 2024 at Silver Spur, 3130 West River Road, Sidney, Maine.

This annual fundraiser helps support our club facilities and events. If any members have time this afternoon, we could use help setting up at ring side. We’ll be leaving Nancy’s around 3:00 pm. Contact Nancy Weeks @ 207-557-3022 to see how you can help.

It’s a little belated- but our junior trail ride was a great success! We had an awesome turnout and everyone had a blast! We are hoping to have another one in August! Thank you to everyone who came!

Hi everyone! This is just a friendly reminder that if you use the MTRA grounds, you need to clean up any mess you or your horse makes! The use of the grounds as a member is a privilege, and we need your help to keep our grounds clean!

Trail ride is still ON for tomorrow! Will post early tomorrow if that changes! Pack a lunch and halter / lead rope for out on the trail! We leave at 10AM

Join us for the monthly meeting on Friday night, June 7th at 7:00 and our 2023 Awards Banquet on Saturday afternoon with a potluck / BBQ at 6:00 pm and Our Banquet at 7:00 with a campfire in the evening. Come camp for the weekend and enjoy our trail rides on both Saturday and Sunday, June 8 & 9 beginning at 10:00 am each day with a lunch break out on the trail, so please bring a halter and lead rope on the ride. Go to trail rides for more info. $5/ adult or $3 per child (accompanied by an adult) per day. Trail ride is all walking.
