We also can take in animals that are unwanted or can no longer be cared for, no questions asked. We provide a loving caring place for them to live, until we are able to rehome them. We sell fresh farm eggs daily, we have chicks and chickens of different ages for sale. we should soon have quail available
we raise meat rabbits and breeders, buy and sell. we also are getting into lion head bunnies. we have pigs and should have piglets this summer.

Few pumpkins and mums will be hitting the egg stand this weekend !

This is her 2ed batch of babies this year , they multiply fast if you don’t find their hiding spots lol 😂 I did find her hiding spot and only let her have 5 eggs there was so many more I can’t imagine if I didn’t find it there had to been around 25 eggs.
All 5 eggs I left hatched , they are so cute these guys will be looking for new homes next month

It is here: Our 3rd and Final Rooster/Hen Round up of the season. Rain or Shine!

We are continuing to work with SloMainer on a rooster/hen take back day.
We have set up multiple locations throughout the state to help make it more convenient for our chicken keepers out there.
-No we will not come to your house.. you have to make an effort!

We will take them out of your cage, boxes and carriers at each location.
Slo will be in a blue truck with Happy Hog Farm in the back window. He is hard to miss!

Here is the itinary.

Sunday August 25th
Dover -Foxcroft TSC 830
TSC near the Newport exit Palmyra 9:20
Mardens parking lot Waterville 10:05am
Agusta TSC 1035 am
Exit 43 Richmond 11:05
Maine visitor information center yarmouth 11:50am

All times approx depending on amount of birds to transport, mechanical difficulties and traffic.

Slo will only stay at each location for approximately 10 mins, soooo dont be late, be early because he won’t wait!!

Feel free to bring roosters, hens etc even if not purchased at WhyNotFarms. Birds will be heading to Auction etc.

Please share as FB doesn’t always get the word out and every time we do one of these, there are keepers who say after the fact.. “I wish I knew”, even though we post multiple times!! Share Share Share!

My poor hulk , yesterday I went to the store , my mother starts blowing up my phone I answered, your bird, your favorite rooster they got him! Who what where? What’s going on ?
She say the rooster you like , one of the geese when after him and now the other rooster is going after him, he’s almost down !
I fly back home as fast as I could thinking my poor big bird was hurt, I get there and mom managed to get in their pen and grab him , she standing there covered in mud holding a rooster I go and take him trying to figure out who it was then noticed it was my poor hulk, my light Brahma rooster I checked him over only seeing little bit of blood on him comb , he was wet and muddy but ok he was shaking some
Not sure what exactly happened but from what mom saw one of the geese when after him got him down and then big bird stepped in. Don’t think big bird ment to hurt him but with all the ruckus with the geese going off and beating on him I think he jumped in to help him , but who knows
I’m hoping to be able to put hulk back out there with everyone today they have always got along together, I did just get 4 new geese a week or so ago , maybe I’m going to have to find homes for 2 of them.
Hopefully hulk will be fine

Thinking about finding a home for my 3 young African geese, I don’t want to let them go but have too many Located in Richmond Asking $100 for the 3 would like them to stay together open to trades as well , hay ,straw , multi flock grain, shavings open to other things as well

I think they are happy I filled their bath back up they pulled the plug out yesterday afternoon

I think they are saying thank you for cleaning the bath 😆

Gizmo and Gertrude wouldn’t leave the babies alone so I let them out to play Gigi come over as well to see what was going on. I be was a little worried with them still being small but they were fine. Hopefully soon they will all be together, but at the pond lol 

I heard Gizmo and Gertrude and some of the ducks come down to the house , went to go see what they were up to, they usually stay at the pond found them trying to break the littles out lol 😂

I took Gigi out to the pond this afternoon and  snuck away when she wasn’t paying attention, it didn’t last long, she found me lol 😂 

Here is what we put in the cage we hurried to get done the other day, 4 months old little boy He will be going in this afternoon to get shaved down he’s a little matted, He might be up for adoption in a week or so if we don’t keep him with us. He will need daily brushing

The other day I was working on the chicken coop and one of the ladies was all in a fuss trying to lay an egg sounded like she was talking to the rooster she wanted privacy’s , he when over and tried to help he stood there trying to let her hid under him. It was so cute to watch. These are just temporary nesting spot till I get their boxes in
