What’s better than gold at the end of the rainbow? M&M’s!!! Aka Meeko and Maisey!

These are our longest residents, coming into the rescue in February 2024 and then very briefly adopted before being returned. Will this Saint Patrick’s Day bring them good luck? I hope so! Meeko is a playful and happy boy while Maisey wants to get to know you before being besties. Not to worth because once you become her person, she will give you her all! They are looking for an angel of a human who are ready to open their home to this lovely brother and sister duo.

They currently live in a foster home with other cats and dogs. Their foster can advised if your current pets would be a good fit for them.

Its been a great week for adoptions at Eliannie. Another longer-term resident of Pet Supplies Plus was adopted - Alfie! He's made himself right at home with his new family, supervising the house from the stairs and occupying laps. Congrats to Alfie and his new family!

Gregory (grey/white) was in our store for two full months - and now, he's HOME!! He's settled right in and loves his new window, where he can watch the birds and chipmunks play outside. We're so happy for Gregory and his new family!

Beans says HAPPY DAYLIGHT SAVINGS! Who doesn’t love more daylight?! Beans loves the longer days to enjoy bird watching 🐦

I know you’ve heard his story before. Adopted as a wee wittle one, declawed, banished to the basement and then returned. He’s been through a lot and has terms and conditions but trust me, they aren’t that bad!

1. He would prefer an only cat home OR another chill male cat.

2. He will play with sometimes involves play bitting. Come visit and he’ll show you that it’s not hard and it doesn’t hurt!

3. He is going to take time to settle in! Like I said, he’s been through the new home and it bit him in the butt. Give him time and he’ll show you how amazing he really is!

Beans adoption fee has been sponsored and it is $0. This does not mean we will let anyone walk away with him. You still need to apply and be a good person!

Happy hump day! We made it halfway through the week, let's celebrate with some gorgeous selfies from ALFIE! 😍

Alfie is a beautiful brown tabby with a sweet disposition. In his foster home, he loved following his foster mama and quietly meowing for attention. He even sat on her lap within the first hour of being in her home!

Alfie is currently located in Pets Supplies Plus in Ephrata, PA. If this chill but fun-loving dude sounds like a good fit for you, come visit him!

PHIL and LIL are a bonded pair seeking their forever home! What makes a bonded pair different from siblings or any other pair of cats? Bonded pairs are cats that are especially close with each other and thrive when they are together.

Why should you adopt a bonded pair? Great question! Bonded pairs keep each other company, reinforce good cat behavior (they learn from each other!), and are less likely to get bored/exhibit destructive behavior. And as a bonus, they are exceptionally cute when they sleep and cuddle together!

"I found my way into the arms of Eliannie Animal Rescue on a cold, snowy night. They thought I was just going to be a TNR but boy did I prove them wrong with my sweet and gentle demeanor. Because of that, I do have an ear tip but I think it makes me looks tough! I enjoy the indoor luxuries of life now and will not be going back out! With that being said, I need a home that will be extra careful with their doors because sometimes my tomcat ways take over and I think I should leave. I am snuggly, sweet, and extra cute. I can’t wait to find my new family!"

Mr. Beans had a lot of interest when he first came back to us after being failed. Unfortunately, he had to finish his vetting so we were unable to adopt him out right away. He’s been ready for awhile but all the interest has disappeared! Where’d it go?!

Today made me realize my fears of failing the animals we adopt out is real.

Beans was one of the first kittens we ever adopted out. In 2023, his adopter posted looking to rehome him. Thankfully we saw the post and took action. The adopter changed her mind until the beginning of this week when she reached out asking to give him back. He went to one of our best fosters and she was saddened. When they dropped him off they said he was often locked in the basement for when the kids came over - how often was that?? This morning the foster texted me saying Beans was front declawed. No declawing always has been and always will be in our contract. Why do vets even do this if not medically necessary?!

I’ve always feared, “What if they seem great on paper but aren’t? How will I know? I haven’t heard from them in a while, is the cat ok?” So many questions and it’s one of the reasons us rescuers are burnt out. Not only are we constantly worrying about the ones in our care, we’re constantly worrying about the ones not yet in our care and ones that were previously in our care.

So today, my fears came true. I’m sorry, Beans. We will find you a perfect, caring and wonderful home.

Please, I beg, just don’t declaw your cats. If it’s medically necessary, your vet will tell you. If you declaw your cats, make sure to schedule your surgery to cut your finger tips off too.

ALICE - Miss Alice was a lovely indoor cat until she was let outside and sadly was not allowed back in. She is being adopted as an INDOOR ONLY cat. Alice knows how to walk on a leash and would likely enjoy being able to do this SAFELY in her new home *cats can easily get out of harnesses too*. She gets along with other cats but like any cat, requires time and patience to settle in with new friends. I mean, she’s a calico, she’s got a little attitude! She enjoys being petted and held but kids and adults and will play with her wand toy all day before heading to the couch to snuggle.
